Shaun from HB Studios recently posted this on the HB Forums. Figured I'd share it here as it's the most communication we've seen in some time:

"I understand there are things in the game that people are not happy about. Everyone is allowed to have their opinion, but I don't think I have ever played a perfect game. What makes this game better for you may not make it better for someone else. Which appears to be the case here with some of the priorities of patches for 2019. Based on your comment I feel you didn't agree with everything we did and think we put our focus in the wrong areas. If we had addressed your suggestions, you might be happy but someone else might not be, or you focus your attention on a different area of the game. It's not a problem though, I do this with many games I play too. The point is, there will always be improvements to make and features to add or build on. Unfortunately entertainment production is limited by several factors, I'm very pleased with that we did with 2019. It was a huge leap forward IMO, we have had more users in-game than ever before, we continued to build and improve on it with each iteration. You say it yourself in your post that you continue to enjoy the game. I'm not sure how long you have had it but I don't know too many games that keep their users around for as long as TGC does. We might not have the mass user base of top games like Fortnite, Red Dead, GTA, COD, FIFA, etc. But we sure have the features that are leveraged to keep the users we have in-game and engaged for months, even years following release. This wouldn't be possible without the commitment of the people who leverage features like Societies and the Course Designer, but we put a lot of effort into areas like this to make sure you can do it. That's on top of the continued effort to replicate the experience of a golf swing in-game to make sure all the top level features are worth while. So many games are built on their community and there is no doubt that the active users, especially those managing societies and building courses, play a big part in bringing people back daily. We also have an overwhelming number of people who have played through the PGA TOUR career, then continue to play because of the engagement through Societies. If there was more to share about 2019 or the future of golf I would share it, the problem is as I have said many times, there is nothing to share at this time. If there was I would be more than happy to communicate it."
