Absolute crap in Round 2. 0 birdies on the par 5's and short par 4's and for the second straight round, couldn't make a putt to save my life. Finished with a pathetic -4 for a 2 round total of -10. After a strong showing last week, this week is a total bust. Hopefully next week is better.

Really strange second round for me. I was in doubt but finally i decided to keep the clubs of first round in my bag. First 8 holes with some stupid error of strategy and with my swing absolutely off centre, a pair of good missed putts and -3 after hole 8. But then, in the beginning of the hardest stretch of the course (for me), my swing started to work again and, although being never perfect, the improve allows me to score some other birdie when available and, most important thing, to save every par when I missed greens (4 or maybe 5 in total). Also I holed out from 153 meters for a very lucky eagle (but the ball was anyway good for an easy birdie)..for a final -10 really unbelievable, considering I never felt comfortable with my game. I don't know what they are the other scores in standings, I want to play my third round with the mind free..i saw that green speed will be medium..and this is always a real problem for me. At the end of the round I was in first position between the pc players..and even if means nothing, actually, is always a good feeling to see it -20 and 2 rounds to play. If only I could avoid to screw up everything... Edit : Oh..i have also a question. Sometimes I see someone talking about the speed of greens using the numbers. I know how it works, but I can't understand where is possible to see these numbers. Is actually possible to check it and i am just me who don't know where to see? (to be fully honest, I don't think it could ever change something in my round..i struggle regularly on medium/slow greens, but is a lot of time that i'm curious about it)

In CC-C but I'll answer your question. Top right where it says 152 feet. The fastest greens are 187 and If someone can correct me if I'm wrong but I think the slowest is 122?

Of course I couldn't see the number..i play with meters..for me the number is..for example "44 mts" and I'm simply too stupid to understand that the number was about that (meanwhile, I'm playing 2 fast practice rounds with the conditions of third round, trying simply to deal a bit with the different greens speed. -13 in the first. In the second, i'm -7 after 9, but only cause in the first par 5 I scored an albatros from 224 meters. The second of my life. So now I'm a bit worried..cause I know pretty well that, for some reason, for me a too good score in practice is never a good sign for tournament. Also..i need to hurry up and play ASAP at least my third round, cause the weather reports here says that will be storm again today..if it should be true, I'll have no internet maybe for all the day. I can't risk to play both my left rounds tomorrow..well..we'll see)

-9 in third round. I should be happy..and actually am i..but I missed 2/3 putts (especially the last..jesus..what a stupid..) that screams for revenge. But I also saved a great pair of pars..one of them almost incredible in the second par 5..missing fairway from the tee for a bad bounce (but stupid me to risk the driver with no reason, of course)..then missing it again for another bad bounce..then missing green for an arrogant and stupid plan..then saved everything with a super lofted flop from a horrible spot. A miracle. I mean..i have really nothing to complain about. No counting the fact that if someone, after my first practice round (-1 after a lot of birdies, lot of bogeys and a double) should ever tell me that after 3 rounds my tournament would be bogey free I should answer simply "is time to change pusher, mate!"..and considering that until now I missed 2 fairways and, if my count is correct, 9 greens..scoring a -29 playing not so incredibly well after all..of course i'm happy!! I also checked the standings, finally. It was the right time to do it...to know for what I can play. And to smell a bit of good pressure. But..Well..It seems my pair of missed birdies will not make so much the difference for a win, after all Wow..-42 after 3 rounds is..monstrous!! Just terrific. So i know I must play just for the honor and for a promo mark. It would be silly to screw anything right now..but i'm a wizard in these situations. Will see.. Good finish to who still have to play..and good week end, guys! (now, after almost 2 days being awake, I suppose I could/should to sleep a bit )

Good luck with Round 4. I hope you go really low. For me, on the other hand, I'm just trying to avoid any demotion marks this week. I've been terrible.

Yup, I can tell you as a designer that 101 is the slowest, and Paul is right, it is similar to putting on a felt table with a velcro ball. I personally would never design my course with that green speed, because even 144 seems slow at times.

-35 finish and hopefully my first promotion mark of the season. A second top 25 finish would be nice also.
52 in the third round for the leader. Looked at the scorecard. 17 birdies and an eagle. Unreal.

hoosierhoops24 thank you mate. I don't know how my fourth will be, but i must admit that i don't feel I played so good to really deserve this score. At least from tee to green. The only difference with my usual rounds when I'm not so precise, has been that i birdied almost everything of what i could/should..and i saved actually everything was wrong. Without those saves, my score should be something around -20/-22. Easily. It would be great if this trend should continue..but normally I'm never so good/lucky My normality is to play a bit better from tee to green..missing putts by inches and being a lot worst when I need to save. Fast greens also helped me a lot, cause firm/fast greens is the condition I read the best and I like the most. Ah..i finally find the only real flaw of the course. I miss some crowds. Is always a bit sad playing without that noise. It gives some realism more and it put pressure..i like it. Well..see you later for the final thoughts and to prepare next week's fig..tournament

You and me both mart280. I wasn’t going to start tonight but had a practice round on default wind and cruised round in -11. Can’t let this form go to waste, so I went straight to the first, the wind was ALOT stronger and I wasn’t able to work the ball to the areas it needs to be. 20ft plus putts on these greens aren’t birdie opportunities. I battled to -3, thinking it couldn’t get any worse I went straight back out. For the second time in one evening I was wrong, stronger wind and a frustrated brain resulted in a birdie on 18 to go round in level par. On the positive though, it’s a great looking course and it makes you think about distances/club choice. Back to the Rookie design course for me. Happy swinging y’all ! Needed to prove I can play at this level and turned in a -11 third round, carried on with the final round but got stuck in the gully on the third, snapped my putter as I walked off with a 6. 7 birdies in the round to finish on -3. Very disappointing opening in CCB but i’ll be back stronger next week. Final word on the course - Loved the playability and the looks, rewards good shots and punishes any lack of concentration. See you next week, happy swinging

Tied 7th overall and third on the Master's list so very happy with that. Felt like i left some out there which is good. Ezzino gets a -7 and he passes me out
Whats the story with the fast track thing? Will third place on Master's get a promotion?
Have to say if i did get promoted it would be bittersweet as i am enjoying CCB with you guys and there is makings of some great (friendly) rivalries here.

If I understand well how fast-tracking works, it depends by how many strokes better the field you score. Looking what happened last week, with 5 master clubs players fast tracked, and considering that this week's course is pretty tough, is really probable that your score and placement (no matters what I'll score) will be good enough for a promotion. And of course you can be happy! (my only doubt about fast tracking is that..if every week the number of promotions should be so high..around 1/3 of the season, if not before, the cc-a will not have too much players? The demotion system seems to be a lot slower, even with increased red marks. 👀)
