Big fan of this design, even though some of the holes were really punishing on pro clubs!! Lots of thought had to go into each shot, but I always felt like i had a chance, and when I made a mistake, I knew it right away.
R1: -1 R2: -11 R3: -4 R4: -6 T: -22
Great course from PithyDoctor Dan!

I don’t belong here. Just stopping by after a fluke promo event. Don’t mind me I won’t be long.

Scores will be higher this week. This course really has some beastly holes - even with Masters.

The back nine is so tough with 10 and 16 - 18 all holes where par is a good score. -8 in first round for me with a bogey on 18!

Well finally round 1 is done. I had it to -7 through 16 and stumbled in with bogies at 17 and 18 for a -5 finish. (8 birdies and 3 bogies)
I am sure there are varying opinions of this golf course. I would rate it no better than a 'C'. There were a few holes that your tee shot depended on luck as to where it ended up. I don't like that. I like to see all holes have a spot where you can lay up to or land safely and take potential trouble out of play. I hit some really good shots that wound up 'not so good'.

Consistent if nothing else... -8, -7, -7, -6 for an event total of -28 Should remove the current demotion mark. Least said about "Slopeydale" the better.

I agree with your assessment. I was not a fan of the course.

Can someone explain how the money list works? Where can I find the totals prize money for the tournaments to see what I would be winning? Or is it just a wait and see after the tournament is complete. Sorry this is my first tournament after Q school and I'm on the line of a top 20 finish and would like to project what that would get me. Thanks

Well, good thing for Round 1... putted like Ian Poulter in the Ryder Cup. The 144 green speed suited me I guess. After that it was a struggle. Might shed a demo mark at least after last week’s disaster
R1: -14 R2: -4 R3: -6 R4: -2

I agree with the assessments about the landing areas for tee shots. With the greens at fast or very fast I saw some similar issues on a couple of greens

Anyone else playing magnolia national (tour) like crazy right now getting ready for those ridiculous greens? I think I get worse the more I play it...

I think the course would be a hole (see what I did there) lot better if the fairways had a border of light rough. Playing a skit that lands left side of the fairway to have it roll just off the right side and having to play out of 74% was unfair. If they had a yard of 90-95% light rough surrounding the penalty would've have been so bad
