Hi guys just wondered if anyone else struggles to get consistently in tight from 15-17yards out, I seem to find this distance hard to dial in, the fully lofted flop stil goes 21 yards and normally won't spin back enough and when I try to not use a full swing I end up duffing the flop well short, the alternative shot is maybe a pw or 9iron chip but ain't always reliable with roll out etc. so is anyone willing to share their magic short game? would be much appreciated.

I use a flop shot and slow the swing down to get 80-90%.

Same the only time i put any loft on the flop is from rough or sand, when using flop for say 17yds i kind of do a couple of practice swings to figure out where i want to start the downswing,it usualy works out ok.

Cheers boys. Guess i just need to spend abit of time practicing this scenario and maybe use a few practice swings to find the right power.

I absolutely hate that distance. I need help with that dang chip distance between 12-14 yards. I've been using either a SW or LW but it is so hit and miss, plus bunkering greenside with like 9-12 yards costs me a shot too.

I have managed to get used to the distances with the flop shots. I can somehow get the ball a certain distance by feel. This takes a lot of practice and i wouldn't suggest using it in a tourney unless you are comfortable doing it.
I occasionally get a misjudged one but this is rare. My favourite distance is 20-30 yards to use the flop.

Ahhh, the dreaded "must hit it at below 100%" shot. Realistically, shots less than twenty yards are the reason I wish this game had a custom bag load-out option. What I wouldn't do for a 62 or 64 degree wedge in those situations.
Honestly though, a percentage modifier button would be just as good. Like on PS4 you hold R2 and it maxes your swing out at 80 percent. Or has anyone found an effective method for controlling swing percentage? The best I can do is rush the swing, but that still results in a random number somewhere between 50-80 percent. Works often enough to save par in the dreaded "can't dial it in for a full flop swing" situation. Still too random for my taste though.

Those lower percentage shots should become easier with the upcoming update. Here's a quote from the last Dev Diary:

Did you get the impression from the Dev Diary that that swing stuff was next update stuff? I got the impression, since it was 'future looking' that it would be further off.
If they make that kind of change in the next update, plus the tournament winds... that's going to be pretty impactful.

We'll have to wait until after the May update for swing stuff and other game physics. I'm sure that will take a while to implement correctly and test.

Yeah there are a few distances you have to work with a bit more. Another distance I usually have issues with is 185-188. You can loft a 4iron but there's the roll you have to deal with. Often I'll deloft a 5 iron to add a little roll to help out.
Alternatively I think 16yards is a nice PW chip. There are many people who don't chip as much as I think they should. If you can learn it, it is like picking a line to putt some 6 yards from your ball. I find it a lot more accurate than trying to loft a flop shot and either hitting too much power or worse hitting too little and getting a lot of spin.

Obviously the slope of the green makes a huge difference but I find it hard to judge. The landing spot seems to be crucial. Also, are the green grids a certain size(2feet???)?

I think the old LW is 1:1 .. which is 4 yards loft and 4 yards roll on a level green. SW is 1:2 .. 5 yards loft and 10 yards roll. ect. You have to practice on different speeds and slopes to get it down, but you can ask Brionne from 5-12 yards I'm usually better than 50/50 to make the thing.
