Well that was an interesting opening Sunday in the NFL. Some takeaways I had from Week 1:
- The Dolphins are worse than I could have possibly imagined.
- The Giants are as bad as I imagined
- DeSean Jackson can still roast any DB in the league (Hello... and buh-bye Josh Norman).
- I have no idea who Kyler Murray is going to be after that first game. Or is he going to be a Jay Cutler type, really good and really bad all in the same game all of the time?
- The Browns are still the same old Browns. *sigh* for the city of Cleveland and those of us who thought they turned a corner. then again, no one played pre-season games.
- Aaron Rodgers didn't play any pre-season games either, and it showed.
- The Chiefs are fire but Tyreek Child-Abuser Hill should be out of the league. Glad he went to the hospital.
- Lamar Jackson was able to hit wide open receivers consistently, that's an improvement. Looking forward to seeing him against a defense not named the Dolphins.
- The Falcons may be this season's biggest disappointment.
- Kirk Cousins only threw 10 passes all game (8/10 for 98 yds and 1 TD)..... and won the game easily.
- Jameis Winston is still an interception machine
- Players should play some pre-season games to knock off the rust

As the token browns fan here, the browns will be fine. The final score looks horrible. But it was 15-13 late in the 3rd quarter despite over 100 penalty yards at that point by the browns.
Comeback mode in the 4th after a quick titans touchdown was terrible. Chubb looked great, but o-line is bottom 5 in the league right now. Baker was solid first 3 quarters. We get the jets in prime time next week, who only mustered 8 offensive points.
Our o-line will be the Achilles heel this year. Still think there’s hope of 9-7.

This raises some serious decision-making questions on him moving forward. I thought I was watching Johnny Manziel there in the second half. But we'll see. So many of my LSU players on that team who are verified playmakers, they need to get after it. |
