NOTE: Please do not post on rounds that have not been revealed on the leaderboard. Moderating is in effect and they will be removed. Please use the Locker Room threads to discuss rounds not revealed. Thanks! The Press Tent will be a feature on TGC Tours where you can come in after a round or tournament and answer some questions from the press. You can let off some steam or tell about some great (or not so great) shots. Some of your answers will be used in Tournament recaps. Have fun, keep it clean! Reminder: Please include your leaderboard name in your post or in the Tour Name portion of your forum profile so that our reporters can make the connection between your Press Tent posts and your leaderboard names. Thx! Questions (answer as many or as few as you like) - What was the highlight of your round/tournament?
- What was the low-light of your round/tournament?
- What did you think of the course?
- How did you fare on the leaderboard? Who were you trying to beat?
- Ask your own question and answer it!

First into the press tent, yep you guessed it, Andi Smith, MORNING ANDI, HOW ARE YOU?Hi, im very well thanks, I understand you all got on the wrong flight? YES WE DID, THAT IS WHY WE ARE LATE, THANKS FOR THAT.Your welcome, good job your not a travel agent, lol. HA HA, HOW WAS YOUR FLIGHT?Awful what ever Tony 'cant last 4 rds' Mcgettigan ate before we left did not do him any favours , I say no more. OK, SO HOW HAVE YOU FOUND THE LION, DID YOU TAME IT?Er, no not really, some awesome scores popping on to the leaderboard already they seem to have bigger birds here than in india, lol. HOW WAS YOUR ROUND 1?Mustn't grumble , blooming putter let me down again, kissed a few lips out there today , but a 61 -11 start, happy with that gives me a chance to add to that in rd2 and hopefully make the cut this week. HOW IS THE COURSE PLAYING?Its ok, same as always really hit fairways and greens and make putts you can score big here, it would not surprise me if there is a silly score posted by the end of the week but saying that we have 4 different pins this week which could prove interesting. PLANS FOR THE REST OF THE WEEK?Have a good round 2 would be nice, then I its either wed or thurs we are all over to Brionne Beaumont-Thomas's for a little sing song and some traditional South African Food, but after last weeks escapade I think im going to stick to bottle water, lol. THANKS FOR YOUR TIME ANDI, SEE YOU AFTER RD2.Thanks see you then.

Hello there Acid, would you like a cold one?
Gidday matie. Hey your the bloke who interviewed me the first week... you are the bartender, no?
Ha-ha, yeah, but don't tell Bob that. You are the only one I have ever interviewed! Bloody good blokes you kiwis! Why are you so happy by the way?
You know it. Great weather the past two days. I even managed to get one practice round in and then said bugger it, and jumped straight into the tournie rounds one and two. Its something about the air here. I like it. Also we got a bit of a party in a couple of days, should be a good week.
Word in the lounge is that you are partying too hard rather than practicing... I know, old coots eh?!
You are only young once. What would my caddy do if I wasn't here to keep him sane? I have missed all the cuts since the opening week, but its something about Africa that brings out the lion in me. See what I did there.
Yes your caddy was just checking your scores, and I saw you had a 61 and 62 to open your account. Seems like you found some form? Salud.
Cheers, but that's the scores you need to be shooting to make the cut now-a-days, I won't be troubling the leaders. I'm stoked with the scoring though. I imagine the final two rounds will have tougher pins, so we will see how we go.
What's the plans for the night?
Laying low and finalising my speech for Brionnes party, trying to keep it funny yet clean. Wanna here a joke?
Sure, you have been a bit too serious and freaking me out a little with that lazy eye.
Its a bit long, basically I leeched it off the web.
An avid golfer found himself in Africa with time to play. He asked at his hotel for the nearest golf course, was put in a cab, and spent two hours being driven deeper and deeper into the jungle until he arrived at Lions Gate Country Club. He checked in with the pro and asked to rent some equipment and, since he'd never played the course before, for a caddie. In a few minutes, he was escorted to the first tee, where his caddie was waiting with a bagful of clubs under one arm and a rifle under the other. The golfer was taken aback, but composed himself and hit a good drive down the fairway of the opening hole, a tough par four. As they were walking to his ball, a tiger sprang out of the rough and charged the golfer. Without missing a beat, the caddie dropped the bag, aimed his rifle, and shot the animal dead. Again, the golfer had to compose himself, taking a minute to catch his breath. But he quickly recovered, hit a good approach, and birdied the hole. The same thing happened on the third hole, a long, twisting par five. But this time it was a lion that bolted out of the jungle, charged the golfer, and was dropped by a single shot from the caddie's rifle.
By now the golfer was visibly shaken, but the caddie looked unflappable -- and obviously was a good shot -- so they played on.
The fifth hole was an easy par three surrounded by water. The golfer hit a good short iron, which landed near the cup. As he was walking onto the green, a crocodile slid out of the water and began moving toward him. Unfazed, the golfer looked to his caddie for help. But the caddie stood motionless. The crocodile moved closer, and the golfer, beginning to get upset, again glanced at the caddie, who didn't move.
Finally, with the crocodile just inches away, the golfer screamed, "Aren't you going to do something?" The caddie looked at the scorecard and said, "I'm sorry, sir, but you don't get a shot on this hole."

What did you think of the course?
Well on Ps4 it is not the smoothest, but other than that, I thought it was a decent track. Honestly, I found it a tougher test than the scores on the leaderboard show.
How did you think of how you shot? At the time of my rounds I was pleased with a -17 seeing as I was +2 through 6 in the first round and was able to salvage a -7 for the first round. But I knew being even after the front 9 in any tournament on this tour puts you in trouble of missing the cut. Now I can chalk up my performance to the game freezing on a 2 ft putt and then my putt when it unfroze the putt that i was in the process of hitting wound up short. Also, a few 90%s and slow framerates killed my first 6 holes. That being said, I was not going to have scores to compete with the blitzkrieg of this course. Congrats to those that will make the cut as that meant you probably shot matching 62's or pretty close to it.
Plans for the weekend?
Well it appears Ive been wrangled into this group of miscreants and am now attending to some sort of event hosted by Brionne so Ill probably just go there and drink away the weekend seeing as there wont be any golf in my near future.
Thoughts on upcoming course?
None. I havent played it yet, time to go practice and see if I can try to bounce back and make more cuts as major season is rolling around and I would like to play in at least one this year I need to up my game.

OH NO MUST BE ROUND 2 AS HERES ANDI SMITH, LOL, Cheeky monkey I heard that, lol, HI ANDI HOW YOU FEELING?Hi im beaut thanks I've just received my invitation to next weeks WGC , my first trip across the pond, whooo hooo, lol. OH, WELL DONE, BACK TO THIS WEEK HOW WAS ROUND 2 FOR YOU?Erm, not much better than round one, if this was a kissing contest I'd be leading as I've kissed that many lips this week , seems my putter wants a week off , lol. HOW DID YOU SCORE?A 61 -11 again, still you cant say im not consistent, lol, YOUR CURRENTLY SITTING IN THE TOP 25, PLANS FOR THE WEEKEND?Yes I am that's not to be sniffed at but I think I will try and be a little bit more aggressive in rd 3 and try and add a couple of more shots and try and squeeze hopefully a top 10 but it will not be easy. I UNDERSTAND BRIONNE'S BARBEQUE BONANZA IS THURSDAY NIGHT BEFORE ROUND 3 IS THIS CORRECT?I believe so, if you have made the cut and are attending feel free to drink as much as you like, I will get your drinks for you, I really don't mind being a waiter for the evening, lol. This could get very messy with acidflashback ( Steve McFlinn) in charge as MC but its going to be a good night, but BigKO seems to be looking forward to it. THANKS FOR YOUR TIME ONCE AGAIN, AND I'LL CATCH UPWITH YOU AFTER ROUND 3.
Thanks and I'll see you then.

Next into the media tent is Dan Turner.
So you have finished your first two rounds Dan, how was it out there?
Well I was very pleased with my opening round 58. Just a solid solid round. Nothing that jumps off the scorecard as far as hole outs or anything, just very consistent.
As for round 2, very disappointed in my play and frankly just not good enough. Was hoping to be -24 to -28 through 2 and instead shot a 66 to only get to -20. As more scores rolled in, it became apparent that -20 is going to be closer to the cut line than I like to be. It will most likely be -19.
Hole 2, got this round off on the wrong foot. Had enough distance to hit the far right fairway but I developed a bit of a pull throughout the round and ended up in the bunker. Ended up taking a bogey 5. In addition to the bogey, just couldn't get my distances quite dialed in on most of the approach shots, leaving much longer putts than I like. While I read most of those reads correctly, had 3-4 that I left just short, with 2 of those, me giving it the full 10 second allowance to see if they would fall. Alas, they did not.
Realistic expectations for the weekend then?
Well at this point, I'm too far back to think about winning or even a Top 25 finish at this stage. I'll just continue to work on things to help prepare me for the first WGC event next week over in the States.
Yes congrats on getting an invite
Thanks. Really looking fiorward to it and maybe that hurt me a little this week. Knowing I was pretty much a lock with my Order of Merit and WGR standings, the anticipation has been building. That's why it's important to correct some things over the final 2 rounds so I can bring my A game to that loaded field. It will be nice to see how my game can stack up with the big boys.
Thanks for stopping by and good luck over the final 2 rounds and next week at the WGC.
Thank you very much.

Hi Brad, it looked like a decent first two rounds for you. How did you feel that it went?
Yeah, pretty good. I definitely could have gone lower, but was satisfied with 58,59.
Even though you shot those scores you find yourself 5 shots behind the leader Tom Morgan, do you think you can catch him over the weekend?
To be honest, I practiced this course a fair bit and 59 was my best score, so to equal that and beat it by one in tournament play was pleasing. I finally worked out how to play the ninth hole after visiting the lake numerous times in practice! For me to catch Tom I am going to have to go ridiculously low and hope that he falters a little, I'll certainly be trying, so will many others as the top of the leaderboard is packed with quality players.
Thanks for your time and good luck.
Thank you.

*Cue Ric Flair theme song*
Now stylin' and profilin' up to the mic, tournament leader on the strength of 55, 57 - Tom Morgan.
Tom's a Monday qualifier, the object of ladies' desire, living life on the wire, and filling more holes than the Hobbits in the Shire (with the little white balls, that is - seriously, what were YOU thinking.)
Welcome, Tom. Uh, you're still naked..
And?
and, um...well, nice playing out there. 2 great rounds.
Could someone shut off that $%^# music. You there, on the mixer. Yeah, you! Fade the song when I approach the mic! FADE!!! That's lower the volume gradually to zero over a set time period, preferably over about 5-7 seconds. Come on, man. You had ONE job. Now get the #%^$ out of my sight!!!!
Oh, sorry, Bob. Technical difficulties - incompetence really. Tough to find good help these days. Oh yeah, the golfs. Heck yeah, I smoked it. 'Bout time too.
Looks like you were playing with a vendetta. Any particular reason?
Well, I'll come right out and say it, Bob. Bradley %#@$ing Garcia. That dude was my nemesis on Doyley's PGA tour, constantly clipping me by a shot or two. And now on TGCT, I've had just about enough of looking up at him. And...wait...who's that up there? WHAT!?!? He's above me right now. SON OF A %^#&@!!!!!!!
That's his press conference. He was scheduled before you.
Oh, is that's the way it's gonna be, Bob. Taking sides are we? We're done here.
I..uh..before you go, how do feel about your chances this weekend?
I'm in the lead, idiot. Mathematically speaking, my chances are better than anyone's.
Thanks, Tom. Good luck!
Piss off!
Hey, jerkwad! Mixer boy! Yes, I'm talking to you again. Can't you see I'm leaving here? Play my exit music....NOW!
*cues Justin Bieber - One Time*
DAMMIT!!!!!

Brionne ambles into the press tent (with no intro music since mixer boy was getting beat like a redheaded stepchild by Tom Morgan) to find Bob quietly drying his eyesBob?! Are you ok?..... Have you been... crying? No... No.. just got something in my eye...(sniff)... Could I get a hug?What?... F@ck NO!.. Get off me! ... What the hell?.. Cowboy up man..! Could you ask Tom if he still likes me?What?!.. No!.. just get on with the interview Ok... Ok.. So it looks like the pressure got to you..? Yeah.. I think so... Round 1 was a solid 58.. Round 2 ... I buckled. I was trying too hard to do well and keep up with the leaders. This course can be a little tricky at times, and one mistake quickly leads to two more.. The next thing you know.. you're 5 strokes behind. You seemed to pull it back a little?Yes.. Round 3 I shot 57.. This has helped restore a little pride (see what I did there).. and temporarily boosted me into the top 10.. Staying up there would be first prize this weekend You still look a little hungover... The braai went well I assume?Hungover?.. I think I'm still a little drunk.. Nothing can beat a good ol SA braai.. We had Acid as the MC and setting the pace.. That guy can party.. Shotgunning beer after beer and chasing the WAGs all over the place.. He reminds me of Bender the robot from Futurama.. Without beer, cigars and partying,... he can't function.. Nathan Allen pitched up in an African safari suit.. Nuff said, and somehow Tom Morgan managed to rig my place so that whenever he walked into a room that Ric Flair music played.. And the Karaoke?Andi Smith took the lead on that, belting out ' I'm a barbie girl ', wearing Austin Powers undies and a blond wig.. I think he drank too much.. Tom Humphries pretended to be Andi's pet chiwawa.. Yeah.. I think we're gonna ban the karaoke next time.. I heard there was a race?Yeah..... Kevin O'Neall thought it would be a good idea to have a foot race against my two pet cheetahs.. So he and Tony McGettigan decided to take some meat off the braai and wear it like a tail.. We gave them a minute head start.. Yeah... that didn't end well.. Chris Bird was laughing so hard.. I'm sure he peed a little Why don't I get invited to these things?Coz you'd probably just cry Bob (Sob, sniff)
See?! Yeah.. Good luck for the rest of the tournament...Why thank you Bob.. Good luck growing some balls

Andi smith staggers into the press tent,
MORNING ANDI,
SSShhh whisper man please, stop shouting,
YOU NOT FEELING TO GOOD?
Oh you could say that.
OH THE BARBEQUE, KARAOKE WAS LAST NIGHT, HOW WAS IT?
Manic, i'll elaborate in a bit.
CAN I ASK ABOUT YOUR COSTUME?
NO YOU CANNOT, oh don't make me shout man , but it did win me 100 euro's from Brionne Beaumont Thomas as he bet I wouldn't wear it,lol,
RIGHT HOW WAS ROUND 3 FOR YOURSELF?
Front nine I think I was still drunk , is there a rule against that?, I hope not? and the back nine the hangover kicked in , I felt like a dehydrated donkey, not good, not good.
DID NOT STOP YOU SCORING WELL THOUGH?
Ssshhh, my head hurts , I am beginning to think that acidflashback has a good theory of playing while a little intoxicated , lol, as i shot my best round of the week with 58 -14.
ALRIGHT WHAT HAPPENED LAST NIGHT?
Well with acidflash as MC the party did get started and early, the food was great but some of the singing was a bit off, lol, I suppose you want a song list?
IT WOULD BE NICE, YES PLEASE.
OK, Tom 'Top Ten' Humphries sang Eiffel 65: Im Blue da ba de , Nathan 'The Brick' Allen sang Pink Floyd: Another Brick In The Wall, lol , Tom Morgan sang Madonna: Like A Virgin, as he leads , lol, Acidflashback sang chumbawamba: Tubthumping , Bigko sang Big Mountain: Baby I Love Your Way , Bradley Garcia sang Oasis: Wonderwall , Brionne Beaumont Thomas strangly sang the pokemon theme: I Want To Be The Very Best , lol, Chrashbird sang Bee Gees: Staying Alive , Tony 'Cant Last 4 Rds' Mcgettigan sang Yazz: The Only Way Is UP , LOL, hoping it would kickstart his season, lol.
AND WHAT ABOUT YOURSELF?
Well I sang a few but kept getting heckled off with cans of windhock and castle lager, but I did get to finish the night with a dedication to Tony 'Cant Last 4 Rds' Mcgettigan, with my rendition of YOU'LL NEVER WALK ALONE, as he will never walk alone, because he will always have his caddy, lol.
THANKS ANDI SOUNDED LIKE A GOOD NIGHT, WONDERWHAT OTHER STORIES WILL COME OUT?
That's what im worried about , im going to bed now, bye.

Acid Flashback, over here! Can we have a word about the party!? Woah man, too many lumens too many lumens. Lets grab a wet and slink into the shade over here, yeah?
Sound strategy. What did you do to Andi and Brionne man? They looked whacked!? Once again, the European Tour boys have taken it to the next level. And as always, it was the same filthy few, the repeat offenders slash posters. At the last moment I decided to make it a WWF costume theme party. HAHAHAHHA the costumes. Who do you think dressed up as Hulk Hogan? Lets just say the US boys didn't represent the Hulk that well. There was a bit too much hair amongst the leotards. I seem to remember no pubes when watching The Warrior vs. Hulk Hogan is the old days.
The mind boggles. You do not know half the story. I am not going to name names, but I am sure someone else will. But a high ranking PGA Tour professional was spotted waxing his bikini line and even the nether regions... he reckons it was just in case he got a wedgie, didn't want his bits to be distorted or something. But the Vaseline and bear sock, that he will have to explain himself.
I think an apology is in order. Think about the children that witnessed that? I understand that seeing a middle aged man clearly 20 years past his prime performing that medieval bar slide may have been disturbing to any children watching, but, BUT I ask you, SHAME on the parents for allowing the children up so late to witness this jovial celebration of like minded souls!!!!
But it was 7:30pm primetime, TELEVISED, and it was supposed to be a mere BBQ with a bit of braaivleis and bread, maybe an interview or two? Why the debauchery? This is what happens when grown men dress up as wrestlers. I mean come on. Barry Horowitz back slapped his way to an 11 under. Macho man dropped an elbow for a 13 under. YEAHHHHHH.
What other goodies can you give me? That's it man. Lets just say that the memory of last night is a bit sketchy.
What's the plans now? I made the weekend and blew my stack. I am so lucky to scrap a -7 today after being even after the front nine. I'm off to grab a drink of some description and wander to the pool for some R and R before the final day.
Final words? Go the Black Caps at cricket world cup See ya tomorrow.
