COURSE STATISTICS DESIGNED: Jeremy Mayo, July 2019 YARDS: 6,743 PAR: 70 GREENS: 171' CONDITIONS: Firm COURSE DESCRIPTIONMayday’s Golf Architecture Worldly Designs (MyGAWD) welcomes you to Necedah (pronounced: neh-SEE-dah) Pines G.C. Set in the Carolina Sandhill region, much like the thought process behind the renovation of Pinehurst No. 2, architect Jeremy Mayo believes there are three surfaces on this course -- the greens, the fairways and everything else. You won’t see clean lines. You’ll find rugged fairways spilling into equally rugged and wild waste areas. There’s no first cut of rough, but the fairways are plenty wide enough to keep your ball in play, with the proper strategy. Necedah Creek meanders through the property and comes into play on eight of the 18 holes. Greens are generally perched above their surroundings, requiring good shotmaking to set up birdie opportunities. No muss, no fuss. Necedah is just a natural golf experience in an immersive environment. After the round, guests are welcome to relax in the expansive clubhouse or by the pool, head to the courts for a game of tennis or head to the practice facility to work on their games. JUDGES NOTES COMPETITION TEES: Black CLUB SET: Judge's Choice PIN SET: Judge's Choice CONDITIONS: Default REQUIRED ELEMENTS: Total course yardage no greater than 6750, At least THREE par 4s less than 400 yards (5th, 8th, 12th), At least one blind tee shot (15th). Played it enjoyed it and learned you went outside your usual stuff for this course. Definitely a pinehurst feel here and it played nicely. 11 stole the show for me with the approach on 18 a close second. Best of luck in the contest just hoping to finish ahead of you for once 😜

Loved my round here, even though I struggled phenomenally on the greens - I was just overreading everything and kept missing in the wrong spots. I really like the environment you've got going here and what you've done with the texture work is seriously cool and innovative. As well as Pinehurst, it made me think of a lot of the English Heathland courses where you feel like you're the only person on the course. Your short holes are awesome - 8 is an absolute stunner and one of the best holes in this contest IMO. Beyond that, 11 is a beautiful par three, too, I loved the strategy on 13 and 15 whilst the long par 5 16th gave that lovely glimpse of the clubhouse. Had you down as a favourite before the contest and nothing I've seen here changes that - great work, Jeremy

Holy mother of God, what have you created here bud? Absolutely gorgeous. Loved the look and feel, if I had to pick my favorite hole I choose all of them but the 11th 12th and 13th is the trifecta, your amen corner. But then you get to the tricky 16th, 17th and 18 and that is another tough stretch. I loved how you get a glimpse of the clubhouse on your left from the 16th FW. I favored this one for my go to course when I just want to relax, once again awesome job...

Wow...as a lover of natural environments, this one stands out to me and that fact alone makes it my personal favourite from the contest entries so far. You get the feeling that the course was built on the plot rather than the plot sculpted to fit a course and that's tough to achieve. I'd be surprised if this one isn't top 3 or4. Well done Jeremy.

Felt hugely inspired playing a round at this one Jeremy. Just a magnificent place to be. The look you achieved was super super natural. Top shelf.

This is a better version of my favorite course in Florida (World Woods). Excellent course and thank you!

I'm only through a few holes and I got to say, this course is just awesome. The angles, the greens, the chipping areas the low profile, tightly routed plot. All so inspired.
in addition to Pinehurst it kind of has a heathland vibe to it as well. Reminds me of Swinley Forest a bit. Its great to see such a well thought out and executed concept. Its a great example of restraint as well. The course just feels natural and unforced like it was just laid over the land with no attempt to 'wow'. Just a beautiful round through the pines.
As someone who tends to make fairly large scale courses I'm inspired to create something that has such a low profile effortless feel to it.
Great work.

Having played Swinley last year, I would totally echo this. Quite how you got the feel of being so alone on a golf course onto a video game is beyond me, Jeremy...

Damn Jeremy, this is my favorite course you've made.
You ever decide to stream how you sculpt and make your bunkers give me a heads up. Thought they were perfect.
Hole 11 the par 3?....probably my fav. 18 not far behind. Actually thought all the holes were framed so well.
Good luck in the contest and very well done. Really enjoyed it.
