Welcome to Raynor Ridge CC - a golden age course that plays 6967yds from the back tee's to a par of 71. The course was built to be enjoyed by all players but on a skill level suitable to those who play on the CC tour. This course should give a medium to easy test for CC players as difficulty wasn't the main priority, I just wanted to design a classic but enjoyable and varied golf course. With this being a Seth Raynor style golf course it's obviously packed with templates, the hole order and templates are as follows...
1. Par 4 - 350yds (Maiden) 2. Par 3 - 232yds (Biarritz) 3. Par 4 - 429yds (Narrows) 4. Par 4 - 471yds (Road) 5. Par 5 - 552yds (Plateau) 6. Par 4 - 318yds (Cape) 7. Par 4 - 404yds (Leven) 8. Par 3 - 198yds (Redan) 9. Par 4 - 389yds (Steamshovel) 10. Par 4 - 498yds (Valley) 11. Par 4 - 451yds (Prize Dogleg) 12. Par 4 - 377yds (Double plateau) 13. Par 3 - 177yds (Eden) 14. Par 5 - 598yds (Long) 15. Par 4 - 394yds (Knoll) 16. Par 4 - 462yds (Hogs Back) 17. Par 5 - 526yds (Alps/Punchbowl) 18. Par 3 - 141yds (Short)
I'd recommend all golfers to play pin set 1 from the whites as this set-up best represents the character of the course. Pin set 4 is the most difficult and pinset 2 & 3 are both of moderate difficulty.
My required elements for this course are as follows...
One template green complex - hole 12 (double plateau)
Three par fours under 400yds - holes 1, 6, 9, 12 & 15.
One par three over 230yds - hole 2
One drivable par four - hole 6
One three shot par five - hole 14
Here's a full flyover of the course...

Big fan of this - hole 6 was a stunner visually and the strategy is always superb. Driving the green leaves you a near impossible putt from above the hole and required a good comebacker. The Punchbowl is always a favourite of mine and this was so well done - I got greedy on the approach and got burned, exactly as it should be. In spite of the fact that I totally dislike the geometric style, I still think it looks gorgeous. The greens are really tough in spots and I'd imagine it has a lot of longevity due to learning where to leave the ball. I also thought you used the OB really nicely to punish greedy drives that didn't quite get it right. Great job; I really enjoyed it. Hope you get lots of plays for this and best of luck. Super course.

Another great course by Joe, and you know what you are going to get from him. I'm not an expert on the templates and could probably only pick a few out, but there's a familiarity on each of his courses. His fairways and greens are always smooth with nothing put in to trick you, and the way that some bunkers are done with the high edges do make them more of a hazard.

Really nice looking course here. Templates were terrific. One of the better Biarritz renditions I've seen in this game.
Enjoyed your driveable Cape hole. Played out safe and had a bad 3 putt par from 40 feet.
Loved your take on the Sleepy Hollow short par 3.
A bit too easy overall. My only negative was that your pin positions could have used a little more bark.
But overall a 5 star for sure!

I've witnessed all sorts of things going on at the cape hole, from eagles to quadruple bogeys... I built the course to be very easy for the best players and a medium to easy difficulty for CC players as it makes a change from building a more difficult course. My next course (Charleston Hall) should have much more bite to it, especially for higher skilled players using master clubs. Thanks again for the play, appreciate it. π

I'll be getting a round in at Gangalesee very soon, I'm just caught up with another design competition at the moment and have very limited time to actually play courses.

You know..in these days i'm creating another list, to report all the real courses we're still missing in the game (or that we have but are not accurate enough) the architects who created (and renovated) them, their position in the world's top courses standings and some silly stuff like this. They're a lot. Some of them is really too beautiful to miss them. And I was thinking about you just some minute ago, cause I think you should be the perfect designer to recreate the Camargo Club. Definitely. (by the way, I also checked a bit better your version of the Old White and Sleepy Hollow. I really like both of them. Despite the differences, the feeling and the atmosphere while I play was fantastic. The par 3's are fantastic. All of them. Lovely courses!)
