Played this twice this week and I found it to be very well made considering the bunker-less concept, many would struggle to build and interesting course without bunkers. Although I'm not really into the bunker-less concept, I have to take my hat off to you for getting it spot on. I thought the absence of bunkers on this particular course created some of the best ground game around green complexes ive ever experienced on this game. The elevations also added in plenty of interest and difficulty to the hole layouts. The ambience and mood of the course was exceptional, once again pretty much creating your own theme and the planting was top tier. The wild templates were very well done and worked really nicely with the style of course. Great effort, Brian. š

Great course this. I thought I would stream my play. Not much to see. Poor play on a good course......except for a HIO on the 8th hole

Great looking course and likely a favorite of mine that you published. Look, feel, planting were really good. Playability towards the target audience i think missed the mark. Played on default settings the very first hole had a pretty egregious illegal pin (#3). As the round progressed i came to the conclusion that while this was a good course there isn't a snowballs in hell this should be considered as a CC level course, which is unfortunate for contest purposes. I will be curious to see how this one and a few others fair in this regard.

rhino4life - I agree that itāll be interesting to see where the difficulty falls in the judging (and as you mention, there are a couple of other designers that have pushed the difficulty a bit) but on a course without hazards other than contours, Iām ok with the greens being funky. I know what you mean about the first green and I think I mentioned that as well - itās a reachable par five though so you are probably better served laying up and finding a good leave than hitting the wrong tier and guaranteeing a three putt. Totally know where you come from but as Reeb said in his playthrough, I think thereās a different mindset you need to play this course compared to the usual āaim and shootā courses. Iām playing devilās advocate here - there were tough and in some cases very borderline pins, but I do think they were placed on the right holes (par 3s or 5s) and generally gave you a bail out option for an easy par. Ultimately though, regardless of difficulty (itās the same for the whole field), I think a course like this would be amazing for CC to visit - itās totally different to the usual and therefore offers something new. All opinions though and I do see your points as well.

I'm sure I will get dinged for it like my almost driveable par 4 on Cypress Dunes got dinged for a yellow pin. It's definitely illegal. I would also agree that it is in fact "egregious" by 9-box standards, but it was not THAT egregious in the designer. I also birdied it just now on on my second try on default conditions with master clubs. After the contest is over if any of the schedulers want a Tour version with a few pins or settings tweaked I can do that.

Yeah it sucks things in the designer dont come out as published. Harrenhal had a par 5 published as a 4 but given the length it was not a big deal and was not as noticeable as what Dylan published for this contest.
I personally love greens with quirks and character to them if tastefully done which is something im working on now. Overall from what i seen from 1 pin set i liked it. Felt more polished, smoother transitions in undulations, and purposeful than Cypress Dunes.

Unfortunately I havenāt had a chance to play this yet but I watched the Jim Gem play through and thought it was a thing of beauty. I love the idea of no bunkers. They are so unbelievably overused in this game itās crazy. This is proof that you donāt need 9 bunkers on each hole to create something intriguing and interesting. Just keep in mind that Augusta had 22 total bunkers when it was first built.... just sayin. Anyway, thank you for putting this project together for us. Courses like this and Jeremyās need to be applauded and used as launching pads for other people designing to go outside of the box.You and a few other guys putting out courses are leading a new wave of design that are pushing the envelope and itās exactly what this game needs. I hope others take a page out of your book because I know I am!

Finally got a chance to play this one and I've gotta say it's a masterpiece. The flow of the holes over the rolling property is just awesome. The holes sit so lightly on the land and the restraint to leave out the bunkers just allowed you to focus on the 3 dimensional game using fairway cants and natural landforms to obstruct shots. Pure golf man. One of my fav's in the game. Great job Brian.
