My gut is you’re overthinking it. Get it published and then take the critiques forward.

Par? Approach length/location? Impossible to answer without that. Whoops!
long downhill par 5, reachable maybe 25-30% of the time if I had to guess.
And what 15eicheltower9 said, it's a 'stay right' hole.
It's probably just one of those "I don't know enough yet to be able to identify why it does or doesn't work" scenarios. Will probably work on finishing it up later, and hopefully it doesn't suck since I have no desire to work on this green site #finishtheloaf
b101 overthinking is my middle name.

I can't say for sure without seeing it in it's entirely but I think all you're looking for is a way to break things up. Looking at it I see a few options. All would require shrinking the fairway entry into the green.
1) Bring in a bit of the hill on the left before the green. Have the fairway hug that drop off to the right and let a little finger of the hill on the left partially block (not really block, but obscure maybe is a better word) the left side of the green and even serve as a kicker to send the ball back and left if it's a bad shot.
2) Bring the fairway entry to the left and put a bigger drop off just short right of the green, like just straight down the hill.
3) Raise the green itself and drop the green entry a little. It would get rid of the run up option true, but the subtle shadowing might be enough to break up the sight line you want.
No matter what I think I'd play with the entry into the green a little bit. Pick a side and have it come in more from the right or left. Will it change the way the holes plays? Only on a front pin...otherwise it's just a visual change.
I don't think forcing a bunker into the hillside would be a good plan. If a bunker is on tap I'd lean more to short right front of the green (again shrinking the fairway entry)

This is the type of stuff I was looking for. Thank you so much, Brian! I will play with some of these ideas, particularly #1, but not as close to the green as I originally tried.

Not going to speak too soon but pretty sure option 1 will save the day. Already happier with it.
I'm 2 for 2 making that same initial mistake on two holes with very similar sightlines, so it's time to learn from it.

Tiny bit of planting left to do on 14/15 before heavy rough, then it's just planting 18, creating hole 1 + planting it, and a few other minor things. Not looking for any advice on the planting: I know it has some major issues, but the planting is also a rush-job to finish the course.
