Round 1: Shot -7 with the wind down. No bogies so can't really complain. But I was -5 through 7, so thought I was pushing for -10 or so.
Round 2: Tee shot on 1 pulled slightly into the mulch. No big deal except oops, that's OB. Have to claw back from +2 now. Second bad hole on an early par 5. Great tee shot with only 170 to the pin. A pull and a three putt later and I've cost myself another 1.5 shots. Actually played well the rest of the way, making a bunch of curling 10-15 footers. Ended up at -4.
Sitting at -11, will wait to see if I make the cut. Gut feeling is it will be that number plus or minus a shot.

Kept alternating fast and slow downswings in the first round so I couldn't really do anything to fix it. Couldn't make any long putts at all. Lipped out a 4 foot par putt on 10. Had an 86 foot putt on 16 that I ended up sending 125 feet and bogeying. Missed an 8 foot birdie on 17. Ended up shooting -4.
Either the wind meter didn't load right or I didn't wait long enough for it to load on the first tee in the second round and I missed the fairway and ended up with a par. Missed a putt from the fringe by inches on 2 then barely missed a 24 footer on 3. Slow downswing off the tee on 4. Lipped out a shortish birdie on 5. Badly missed a 20 foot birdie on 6 but made the par. Lipped out an 8 foot eagle on 7 but at least I made my first birdie. Gave it back on the next hole by missing a 7 foot putt. Missed a 13 foot birdie on 9. Ended up in the bunker off the tee on 10 then missed a 20 foot birdie from the fringe. Left a chip a foot short on 11. Missed a 38 footer with a huge break by 9 inches on 12. Had a completely inexplicable very fast downswing on 13, hit the pin on my flop but it didn't drop and I parred. Shanked my tee shot on 14 into the water and left the 16 foot par putt from the fairway short. Missed a 10 foot birdie on 15. Missed the fairway on 16. Finally made a put on 17 after putting my second shot to 6 feet, then pulled a fast downswing off the tee into the water on 18, then put my second shot on the wrong tier of the green where a light tap sent me flying past the pin and off the green, and I missed the 20 foot par by inches.
So I finished +1 for the round, -3 through 2 rounds. Went from the 4th round of the last tournament, which I played yesterday, probably being the best I've ever putted, to the second round today maybe being the worst. The putt number won't look as bad as it really was since I had so many from the fringe.

Had two pretty solid rounds to open up. Been messing around with playing my rounds at different times of day because of server issues but I’m actually all over the gaff at the quiet times! Played at 10am uk time last week and shot Even 1st round and then played my second round that evening at a busy time and shot -11, go figure.
Decided this week to play all my rounds at the same time every day and so far so good, two 64s for -18 at halfway, this course is a bit of a slog but a good test, there’s a few silly tee shots where I’ve hit it down neighbouring holes as it’s an easier tee shot which I’m not a fan of. That said, the designer has some good ability for sculpting so kudos.
I’m sure there will be better scores but hopefully it’ll be a cut made in what has been a difficult intro to the pro tours, good luck everyone

Fair challenging course. You can easily shoot a +1 or a -10. It all depends on how you're swinging and putting that round. I came out slow with 2 birds and a bogey on the front for a -1 at the turn. I felt I was playing well, just couldn't score. The back 9 I played in -6 with an eagle on 18 for a round 1 score of -7. Middle of the pack.
Round 2 played about the same, but dropped a couple more putts. -9 with a bogey. Very pleased with the round.
-16 at the cut, and will finish up later this week. Good luck everyone!

I stunk it up! -2 at the cut lol. Worst I’ve played in a while. Had a fast downswing on every approach that just put me too far out for birdies and far enough out to make going for birdies turn into bogies.

Ya, when I have those rounds when I’m hitting fast approaches it’s very difficult to score. The problem is you do ur math for a perfect, the end up 25-35 from the pin!!! Sucks!

It is nice to see one of my favourite courses on tour. Hope everyone is enjoying it because Eric did a great job designing it.

Barely squeaked by at -11 to make a third straight cut. Stumbled on the weekend to end at -20. Getting closer to putting it all together. Good luck to those with rounds still to play.
(Personally think a thread without 10 page cheating accusations and API discussions is just fine)

Well, life is hard for a journeyman player.
I really got hot in the third round and posted a -12. So far the best round of the field.
..... only to falter with a poor -2 in the final round. I didn't even play that poorly. A very fast downswing out of nowhere put me OB on the first hole. I bogeyed only one other hole but just couldn't make anything on the greens. A had 6 (!!!!) lipouts.
It just shouldn't be. I squandered an opportunity for a Top 10 - and will end up around 30th place - as i do so often.

Enjoyed the challenge - R3 was a struggle for me as I played the 5 par 5's at even par - ugggh. Overall I shot well enough to contend for a promo mark. We'll see where I land when it's all said and done - but anytime I'm in promo mark territory, it's a good week!
