Great course. The big dunes look amazing. Awesome job fixing everything after the lidar import.
I'll be totally honest though. I was disappointed in 15 and 16. You took so much time on the dunes and heavy rough, there's so much great planting going on, but these 2 holes feel neglected. They're 2 of the best looking holes on any course. I'd thought your 2 main focuses would be the huge dunes and the cliffs on these 2 holes. I dont like the giant rocks. I think they look like what they are: blown up rocks. The surfaces get flatter the bigger the rock gets. They look like flat cliff faces and dont make for good rocky coasts. I thought you would use the landscape tools and sunken trees. It's better than multi planting small rocks. I think I'm in the minority on this since mostly everyone does it and people say it looks nice. The holes still look pretty good.
Sorry. I'll go away now. Great course. Thanks for making this. I was looking forward to playing this course in the game.

One of the reasons I wanted to use the steppe theme over delta was because the rock texture is much better for the rocks on the Monterey peninsula. I kind of agree on #15 that the big rocks blend in with the bunkers too much. I think #16 and #17 they work, they're just not the best color for it. You're right, I did spend the majority of my time on the dunes and the inland holes. The coastal holes are so good on their own that I didn't want to mess with them too much. Thanks for the play and the feedback.

Awesome! One of the most immersive courses in the game. Every hole is a signature hole. Soooo good.
the only thing missing from #15 and #16 is bringing the water to life- waves crashing off the rocks or something- but that's obviously a limitation in the designer.

Wow. Looks amazing Brian. Tops on my list to play.
Might be the closest any of us ever get to playing it!

Instant favorite here, going to be an instant classic as well, you have truly captured the feel atmosphere and look of this course to the best of your availability I do believe. Dunes look fantastic planting was just awesome and the rock work is superb. My one and only knit pick with this is on 17, I feel the rocks and shoreline could use a bit of grasses and sparse planting by the seaside but that’s just my opinion and nothing more, I expect hate mail for that but it’s ok lol. You did a fantastic job!

No real way to get crashing ocean waves in TGC, right? I felt the wame way about both Cypress versions, that the game just doesn't do 15-17 any justice. HB if you're listening...

I can't say I agree with the argument against the big rocks, that's literally what they are. And they jut out into the ocean on #17 like fingers, exactly as I tried to imitate. Do I wish the rock texture in delta were different in this case? Yeah, of course. But I think rocks make way more sense than just sculpting and buried trees alone. I DO wish I'd chosen delta over steppe BEFORE I started planting, as I was already too far in to swap to the coastal backdrop instead of the island backdrop. Taking it back to the LIDAR tool and rotating it 180 to fit right was going to mess up all the objects I'd already sunken up to that point, so I had to make the island backdrop work, which unfortunately you can see on some of the flyovers and it makes it look a little weird. But from the ground while playing it's not noticeable, at least.

I haven't played very many LiDar courses, but of the handful I've played, this one is the most smooth and playable.

Very nice course here! Wicked natural looking.
5 stars and a favorite for sure.
Only complaint was how easy it was. I somehow parred #9 lying 1 from 6 yards away. But was still -21 with default settings from the tips on pin #1.
That's going to happen with a rcr though since you want to keep the realistic yardages.
Really enjoyed the tree planting you did.
Anyways, well done!

Awesome job, man. Really fun round and absolutely beautiful. The dunes were spectacular. Don't really agree with the minor complaint about 17, I thought that hole looked amazing. I could see being picky about 15 and 16, but I think you did pretty well there considering the limitations of the designer. You did a great job with the clubhouse too, I'm always a sucker for those done right. Really looking forward to the Tour version!
