I played this course over the weekend in the Pure Ace's society and shot -25 for two rounds with hardly any tempo issues: here I shot -29 for four rounds with numerous tempo issues. I had two very fasts on the 1st hole with perfect feeling swings that went OB. I don't mind getting tempo issues if I feel that I've caused them, here they just felt totally random at times. I tried three different controllers to try and sort it out, but that just made me play erratically and ended up confusing me even more. Glad that's over, good luck all still to finish. Various times of the day can cause this I think. Played a bunch of rounds tonight then out of nowhere the tempo was uncontrollable like a flip of of switch.

-8 for R2, leaving me on -18 at the halfway stage. Comfortably inside the cut and even more comfortably not challenging for the top spots. Mid-table mediocrity is my comfort zone.

Doyley, Any chance I can avoid marks for WD for this week, I'm starting to rack them up from trying to play these tournaments with no success. See page 1 for reference.

I now have to do a Bart Simpson and write "I choked" a 100 times on the blackboard. -9, -2 on to next week.

Experiencing a love/hate relationship with this course so far. Certainly memorable and unique. Many fun challenging shots, but also experienced some odd ball flights and wind reactions.

If anyone finds some putter shrapnel lying around during rounds 3 and 4 my apologies . Love this course and thankfully my tempo was better than usual to keep me in play for the most part.Only -19 over the weekend compared to -23 in tougher conditions the first two rounds.Oh well I will try to take the positive with only 1 random very slow over the 4 rounds (of course with water right) and a semblance of tee to green play.

Round 3 in the books - one of the best I've had here in a while, which is obviously nice. Hope to keep it up and close the event out strong...but we'll see how that works out

Well, my round 4 was a tale of two sides for sure...front nine just couldn't get anything going, and all was on me, just happens shot E Then I got it together on the back nine, and went -8 Total= -41 Hopefully another top 20 That would be back to back for me Good luck to everyone in the very tough U.S. Open track next week

Good luck to everyone in the very tough U.S. Open track next week It's going to be an interesting thread next week I think its going to be a TGC1 playing for chips throwback with those tucked pins and yellow slopes everywhere. I played earlier just going for the middle of the green but youre left with a 45-60 foot uphill putt for the most part. I had 100% fir in R2 this week and only 55% gir, doesnt bode well for next week. Goal is to shoot E both rounds and see if its close to the cut. No clue how some are shooting -8 consistently in practice rounds.

No clue how some are shooting -8 consistently in practice rounds. Winning score will still be something silly. It's target golf, like a few of the courses we've played this year, and if you can hit your 1x1yd square 90% of the time (count me out of that group), you can go low - I just can't swing that well to do that! I don't believe you can overcome elite approach shot - and chip shot - swing accuracy with putting around that course, but I certainly hope I get proven wrong.

This course is different than most of the ones we've played on tour since I've been on it. Not in a bad way, but you have to be precise on tee shots and approach shots. You can't just hit driver everywhere and if you decide to you have to be hyper precise so that's good. There's a challenge out there for sure. There's a lot of top guys on the leaderboard that you'd expect to see there. Good shooting by those guys!
For me, I started off with a -9 and that wasn't too bad for me I didn't feel like because I wasn't hitting the ball as precisely as I felt I needed to. Then followed that up in round 2 with a -11, which is interesting because I felt I hit the ball worse than I did in the first round. A couple of chip-ins and good scrambling saved me at times. Need to pick up my consistency in the last 2 rounds. Hopefully trying to crack the top 10 if possible but I have some work to do if that's going to happen.
Always a pleasure to see some more XB1 guys making the cut and competing well. There will be at least 3 of us making the cut for sure with 3 others trying to do the same! Haven't looked at the US Open course yet, but from reading this thread it seems it may be a rough one! Time to dial those games in tight lol!
