Lahinch is the host of this year's Irish Open in July. The initial routing of the course is credited to Old Tom Morris in 1894, and in 1927, prior to his work at Augusta National, Cypress Point, and Royal Melbourne, Alister MacKenzie submitted a redesign. The club makes frequent use of a quote attributed to MacKenzie: “Lahinch will make the finest and most popular course that I, or I believe anyone else, has ever constructed.” Not a bad duo of designers! I used rough elevations from Google Earth to create the plot for the course, and then used as many videos and photo tours as I could find to sculpt the course. Given the overall lack of information available to recreate the course, I think you will find that is as close as the course can be created in TGC without access to LiDAR data. I do intend to use coverage from the Irish Open to further refine the course later on, and add full tournament details. For now you will find the course lightly populated by just crowds if you play in a society. As a final note, Lahinch is a par 72 layout, with four par 5's and four par 3's. Due to the lack of length on 3 of the 4 par 5's, I have decided to play the 18th as a par 4, making the layout a par 71. The iconic 4th hole, Klondyke, could easily play as a par 4, but I have left it as a 5 since it is an iconic hole. I will match the par to what the tournament uses in the next release. Course DetailsBack Tees - 6982 yards Green Speed - 162 feet Fairways and Greens - Firm Par 71 Prevailing Wind - I recommend West or Southwest, occasionally Northwest. For the best experience, I also recommend setting wind speeds to a minimum of High. Turning off Scout Cam also heightens the experience. 6th Hole 7th Hole 8th Hole 10th Green Foreground - 13th Green Background 11th Hole 16th Hole 17th Hole

Now that Portrush and Lahinch are both done, if one of you fine gentlemen would take on Cruden Bay, I will finally be able to rest easily.

What you've done here... is just so stupid good... How you have mastered the art of the perfect RCR I will never figure out. But I will always play your courses and smile at the accuracy, that is for sure.

I've heard great things about Cruden, would love to see it in the game. I'm ready from a long break from manual RCR's though. Going to knock out a bunch of lingering projects next.

If anyone could pull off Cullen I think it would be you... Just an amazing track way up north in Scotland. But I understand wanting a break after 9 months (wow)!

That par 5 that is 470 yards but has a 10 yard fairway through the dunes... and then later the 18th which is a par 4 over 520 yards... *chefs kiss* To quote TheDominator273 "Par is just a number."

Plays exactly as it should .... well I amped up the speed, firmness & wind and it's an absolute beauty. What you've done with the info you had is just amazing. Somy tiny things like dunes being a little higher in spots and a few little elevation changes and it is 100% like for like. The Dell made an absolute fool of me just like it does IRL. Flew through my round coz I just couldn't wait to see the next hole. Will give it a proper play tomorrow.

GDog and I played this yesterday with very high wind and 187 greens - and just from that 1 round, in the most brutal of settings, this is easily one of my top 5 (maybe top 2/3) favorite links courses in the game. Amazing work here, from playability to planting and "off course" sculpting, it's just a work of art. Bravo!
