Fantastic course, I enjoyed every minute of it. You got the look and feel of a Irish links spot on. Except for one thing, the rain. I have lived in Ireland my entire life and it never rains here, ever, true story that. Well done on a impressive recreation.

I'm guessing it never rains in Ireland the same way as it never rains in Wales. Anyway It's not raining it's just the Leprechauns using the sprinkler system ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png) . Thanks for the comments so far.

Played the first 5 holes, and plan on playing multiple rounds here later, as it looks top notch. It's a shame that it comes just a week or two after yeltzman released his stellar version. It's no one's fault, as everyone doesn't always frequent the same boards or publish their intentions, but I would always prefer to great designers produce two great real courses, as opposed to having multiple versions of the same course.

Yes, had know idea about the other version till finding it in the listings last weekend. Still I guess a little healthy competition doesn't hurt. Look forward to hearing your comments after you get chance to play the course later.

Quick Update. I'm currently working on a Championship version of the course. I'll probably publish it sometime in the next couple of weeks.

I haven't played yet the other's designer version, but yours is quite stunning. You've got the feel of the course just near to perfection.
This just gives me the wish to work on Royal Dornoch which I designed for Links2003. I just gave up as the surroundings of the first two holes are so specific but maybe i could share the design with a more talented surroundings designer. And I also wait for the sod walls.
Anyway, we will have a superb virtual Open.

And I also wait for the sod walls. Dominique I hope you're patient Dom. I've been waiting for these for my links courses too. ![:(](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/sad.png)

I don't know why it took me so long to find this one, but so glad I finally did. I can't compliment this enough. FANTASTIC design. In the Age Of Lidar, these "old school" RCR's are perhaps getting overlooked or under-rated when they shouldn't - this is an absolutely amazing job that took the designer 8 months of hard work to get everything perfect, and it shows. I don't think a Lidar version of this course would be able to compete with this (even if there was good Lidar for this course, which I'm sure there isn't). The attention to detail on every inch of this course is nothing short of genius. This is one of the very best links courses I've ever seen, and one of the very best RCR's I've ever seen. Period. MUST give this a play! What an amazing design. We will be featuring this on this Thursday's May 23rd TGC Course Review at 7 pm EST (probably too late for the designer to make it unfortunately). Great job!
