At work straight away on this one with the mass sculpting of the plot and perimeter planting, getting the long, tedious work out of the way from the get go. Obviously I'm building a golden age template course in the style of Seth Raynor, and I'm thinking of either naming this Seth Raynor GC or Raynor Ridge GC - I think it's about time I finally named one of courses after my favorite architect.
The Course will be between 6800-6900yds on a countryside theme with the course perched up on a ridge with some smaller internal ridges and a stream/lake running through. I already have a routing and order of template holes that I'll be using. Sixteen of the eighteen holes will be templates with the other two being original designs - for now...
The requirements that I've met for this course are as follows...
Drivable par four
Three par fours under 400yds
One three shot par five
One template green complex (just one? 😂)
Out of the poll held beforehand, I also have two holes with a connecting creek
End one 9 with a par three.
I'll be posting pictures and streaming the course very soon. Looking forward to really digging into this and I'm on holiday for two weeks from May 17th on, so I need to get a shift on!

Huge fan of your templates. Can't wait to see how yours turn out. I'm actually kind of hesitant to add a template since I know yours will probably be much more skillfully crafted. lol.

I've finished the mass sculpting of the entire plot and have fully routed the course. I've also done a lot of perimeter planting on one side of the course and put down a perimeter wall. I've fully laid out, sculpted and planted the first hole as well as building all four of the par three greens, with two of them fully completed.

Here's the Eden green at Seth Raynor GC. The green was carved into the hill at the corner of the property overlooking the ridge, some nice panoramic views on this this hole.

I'm still very much enjoying building this style but, I'm open to a deal.... I'll design a course outside of this contest with no intended templates and no Raynor aesthetic, if you build a template course in the style of Raynor? I think this could be a very interesting exchange of design styles. I'm up for that if you are? |

Few update pictures. Was hungover yesterday and spent pretty much all my day in the designer and got a lot of stuff done. Here are a couple of shots of the Redan hole...
And here's a nice overlook from the first green. The green overlooks the Biarritz which overlooks the Narrows.
