Should call those players out then.
It’s not hard. Pull the stick back, then push it forward. If you’re on PS, you’re pretty much guaranteed a perfect tempo anyway.

I get feedback like my dispersion was always tight and it got a little tighter this week, along with a bar chart showing a tight dispersion. I have to figure out what to do about that. I don't know how much different the swing it needs to be, if a different controller will matter, or how I know if the new one is giving any different result before teeing it up the next week. Honestly I could fix the dispersion and pass the API every week if I just decide to intentionally mis-swing off the tee when I have a wide fairway in front of me, but that's not in the spirit of the game. Based on ghosts I've seen, I suspect this is what some other top players are doing anyway, every 'bad' swing comes on a place in the course where it has a negligible affect on the score. If you're getting feedback that your dispersion is always pretty tight and sometimes it's tripping the API, it's time to change something IMO. If you buy a new controller, tee it up in an alternate event and ask the admin to check your swing... Been done by many, myself included. Admin will give you feedback on those rounds and you know fine well if your controller is good to go next week. If it's no different, send it back to Amazon and work on a new technique - rinse and repeat through the Admin loop. Do you mind if I ask whether you have changed controllers since being API'd on any of the occasions it's happened this year Ben?

I bought a new one after I failed Q School, and now that one doesn't work anymore and I bought another new one before playing this week's rounds. So that's 120 euros invested in the last 6 months. No one has mentioned to me before that I have this option to play alternate events and get feedback.
To be honest I am not planning to work on a new technique. I will use the feedback I get to make sure I am playing fairly with stock equipment that's working correctly. I'm not a short swinger or in any way taking advantage of a flaw in the game design. The whole point of the game is to try to hit it straight with a good tempo. It really makes no sense to hold the controller or stick differently to hit it less straight on purpose

No one has mentioned to me before that I have this option to play alternate events and get feedback. To be honest, I suggested it when it was my turn... Just seemed to make sense to me and I was keen to understand where things were going wrong for me (turned out to be a combination of controller and swing type). Admin have the API data for every event, so I changed it up (controller / swing) and asked them to take a look. As you usually play TST you'd need to try Euro or something. Just play a round and ask for admin to check, stating what you've changed. They'd be happy to give feedback, I'm sure.

As I've said before, I feel like we really get into the weeds sometimes with discussions like these, it doesn't have to be so complicated.
Pick up controller, hold controller in hands like a normal person, using the physical design of the hardware the way in which it was intended to be used. Put thumb on analog stick, move thumb back then forward. Try to get ball in hole in the fewest amount of strokes as possible. Simple.
It's when we get into using methods for manipulating straightness of swing - i.e., a flick, or chess-piece, or whatever the one is where you actually rotate the entire controller while holding the stick still (however that's possible...) - that aren't just "pick it up, hold it normal, use your thumb" that things get complicated. Not in all cases obviously, but it seems like these non-standard methods are more apt to cause issues than others, and then we venture down the rabbit hole of arbitrarily determining "fairness" as best we can - and that's never going to work for everyone.

Agreed on everything ‘cept the chess piece hold - because I do it 😂

or whatever the one is where you actually rotate the entire controller while holding the stick still (however that's possible...) That one's called the Reverse Donkeypunch Cradle.

Just as an FYI, I'm going on vacation tonight. If I don't play the next 2 weeks it's not because I was stealth banned or because I am pouting about people voting to ban me

I propose the ‘self reach around’? Can we call my chess piece move something dirty?? The dainty fiddler? The nipple grip???

It’s just that the vast, vast majority play well within the parameters of what is deemed to be able to be reproduced by a human with correctly functioning piece of official equipment, and when folk keep getting their scores removed but then bouncing back to excellent finishes (you are not alone) without recourse, the poll shows how most trend their feelings on matter.
