From tee to green a really nice and challenging course which I would rate with an eight. The greens and the pin positions just ruin the experience. There is a difference between tough and simply unfair. And this one is simply unfair. I love difficult greens if you can you can avoid tough breaks by good course management and shot placement. But this is not possible on this course. There are no easy putts. But there should be if you play the course the right way. So in the end it is just a badly designed course which could have been a real great one, as the rest of the course is beautifully crafted. The wind will be -as always- very decisive. The round to round scores even from the best players should differ much more than on previous courses. I agree. Terrible greens and unfair pins. I'll never play it again. This was the most unfair course I have played to date ... a nice course ruined by crap greens and poor pin placement .. top it off with a couple of unfair bogus fairway bunkers that are so deep, I could only get out with a lob wedge (think it was either a long par 4 or a par 5) ... Don't even let the wind blow you off line and over a cliff ... it WILL take away every birdie you earned and the some ... this course was as tough, or tougher than Crawford mines in the winds, There is not one fair green on any hole. I will never play this course again, no wonder it was rated so low! I would never say this - but, if you ever was thinking on waiting and praying for No, or low winds .... this is the course you should be a "WIND WAITER" !! Good Luck!I am hoping I can even get close to the "CUT" line

Phew! Thank my lucky stars I won a sponsors exemption last week... Probably won't make the cut but: Bavaro > Liberty Sound I play the Champions Tour, I won a sponsors exemption and it's for this tournament. Played 2 practice rounds to see how I'd fare on it and decided not to bother with it lol. Would much rather stick to the Champions Tour... I'm doing well there.

While it is not my favorite golf course that we have played, I don't think it is quite as bad as you guys feel. Maybe it is because my home golf course in real life has really tough greens and I have learned to deal with them. Agree on the winds, it is a monster in 18-20 mph winds and just a bear in normal winds. Good luck to all! Agree, that if I am just playing for fun and practice, this would not be the one I would choose.

Well, maybe we'll have to agree to disagree. I think it was #10 that finally exasperated me. About a 480 yard dogleg rt par 4. You're left with about a 3 or possibly a 4 iron to a thumb's width portion of green tucked right behind a bunker. Tough pin right? Yeah. But here's where it gets un fair. So let's say you want to just hit to the fat part of the green. It's all red grid lines sloping away from the hole. There's no bailout area. So, really, your only choice is to put the ball in the bunker. Not very realistic hole design imo. But I guess it's good for a video game. Just my opinion. No disrespect intended

I do agree with you on ten. The right side of the green is 'wonky'. Bad design on that one, should have had the green level or funneling to the left. So far, I have been on the left side of the green so I haven't had to deal with that.

I suppose that my thought is we shouldn't have courses that people shoot in the 50's every time out. I enjoy the challange even though I did not break par on the practice rounds. I have had decent scores to begin the tourney. I played with a 'ghost' in one of my rounds and he broke 60. Go figure.

This will be my second tgc event. I'm quite looking forward to seeing how different this week is from last. Hopefully a cut line much closer to par.
I've done a few practice rounds and I seem to have gotten the hang of the first 6 holes at least... I say 6 because my rounds often seem to end with me sitting on the beach of 7 having gently rolled down the cliff. I don't think there is a way back up from there (unless a comment earlier about time wasting hints at a potential way out via a penalty stroke?). I'm quite concerned that issues like this will ruin the integrity of this tournament, I suspect there will be a fair few massive scores.
I didn't actually find high winds too bad, but some parts of the course can really catch you out. My tip would be make sure you have a practice round!

pyates, when you go down a cliff or in a ravine you cannot get out of, once you get to 7 over on the hole, you go to the next hole. The game really needs an uplayable lie penalty. My advice is play very safe when you are faced with this kind of shot. I had a 7 over on a hole in an earlier tournament and it killed the tourney for me.

Ah cheers. I know the O.B etc is on list to be implemented so sure it will be sorted eventually. Thanks though, I never sat it out to 7 over :-). At least you can continue from there. And yes I will be playing safe, a nice 3 shot hole for me that one. Often the best way to play many par 5s anyway if your wedge play is good... Just hope I don't find another beach on the real rounds

I think It hit 27MPH at one point. It... was... a... NIGHTMARE! lol

Wow, foolinjection, I have seen winds that high since I have been playing. Hope your 'real rounds' in the tourney are normal winds.

Just ghosted top 3 rd 1. Yep, they need to go up. There should be a point where exemption isn't voluntary
