Sorry this is necessary, but I'm glad we're seeing some success. For now I'd recommend everyone doing this prior to every round on lidar courses. Thanks for being careful and getting good results, statelyowl ! Chad someone mentioned that I might have to input a number 27700 into the program before I download data in the UK, what does this number do. |

Yes, 27700 seems to be the EPSG for all of the UK.

Anyone using the UK link:

know how to get the meta data (presumably .xml files) to go with the Lidar Point Data (.LAZ) files?

Instead of the xml, you just need the 27700 EPSG.

No doubt I'm being particularly obtuse here, but I can't work this out at all. I have a LAZ file for the area I want and have it converted to LAS. When I try to run the Lidar, I the file doesn't even show up in the directoty. The tutorial says there should be at least 2 files associated but even in my directory there is only one. Can anyone shepherd me through? Thanks very much.

You shouldn't need to convert it - I've used LAZ just fine. Are you copying the Lidar files to the same folder as you select at the start?

the file should look something like this...P_6475 etc....ignore the 2 next to it thats for later  I am awful at explaining things if you are still stuck later what's the course name and ill see if i can produce a file for you and email it you. |

Took me a while finding the course.....Yes that's the right file,Chad's golf programme has found the course on the map....ill report back to you if it comes out fine in TGC 2019 takes me a morning to do things.For some reason i am having trouble masking it,going to import it in tgc2019 and take a look at it its only 4.5MB so not a large file.  Only took a quick look at it in the 2k21 designer the tees/bunkers and green area's need cleaning up some greens look tough on 187 speeds and about 100 hours of work i reckon for the trees and general layout....if you can't get the file to work send me a pm message with your email address and ill send you the file  |

Glad that's been sorted,nice to play the rough version of that layout 245 yard par 4 last hole something special love that. Look forward to playing the finished version and another UK course added to the game great.

Sorry. I thought I had posted something on here but it hasn't shown up. Who knows. Thanks for all your help. I will soon be ready to publish so fingers crossed. That 18th is a lovely hole to play in real life. I've only managed to get on from the tee once in about 10 goes. On a separate note, I'm looking at doing Waterstock near Oxford too. The issue is that the course falls across 2 squares in the database. I have downloaded both files but the app doesn't seem to like that. Any advice you can offer would be appreciated. Cheers.

It seems for the New national lidar point data 2020 Chad's Programme only seems to process one of the postcodes so you only get that half of the map tried a few different ways with the 2020 data and only get some of the course. There is some 2009 lidar point data have you tried that the terrain shouldn't have changed that much in the last few years.
