I think that we need a iconic course from lidar. That way we can really see it's potential. These new courses are great but no one really knows them.
Augusta would be cool to see since it has the most clown mouth greens and it's less then a month away.

Let's just say I've been testing out some ideas with my US Open contest course on how to get a Monterey peninsula/Pacific west coast look with the themes and objects that are available in the game and have had good results. And there may or may not be an iconic, top 3 course in the world with LIDAR data that I'm planning on applying said ideas to afterward.

From looking around I believe there is sufficient LIDAR data for Scotland to cover St Andrew's if anyone fancies giving that a go

Pinehurst, Bandon dunes, sand hills anyone π I've got Sand Hills all ready to hand off - just waiting for someone to push it across the line?

I'd like to give another shout-out to bethpage black! A public course AND a major worthy course. Was challenging yet fun on TW (WITHOUT "boost," I may add!)
Also, the Olympic club San Francisco...

I suspect others may feel the same as I do and would like to get comfortable with the tools with a local, lesser known course before tackling a major venue.

That's if there is Lidar data for Augusta...β¦β¦.the ANGC board have probably fitted their own anti-aircraft defence system to shoot down anything that dares to try and laser scan their precious plot of land

I considered doing Pinehurst but figured it was already in the game, why do it again. Sure we have LiDAR, but I am sure the original creator replicated the terrain as best as he/she could. I am currently working through King and Bear Golf Course, but I did pull down Sand Hills. I did not claim it yet but I have it masked out in Chad's program. The OSM was solid whoever did that.

You are free to take on Pinehurst if you want. I've put so many hours into my original RCR's, and then even more to port them over to TGC 19, that I am burnt out on most of them and not super interested in doing them again. If and when lidar and satellite imagery were to be updated to include the new Pinehurst #4, then I would definitely reconsider doing both courses at once.
