I had just finished my five course breakfast at the schedulers mansion when I saw coruler2 leaving our Olympics sized indoor swimming pool after his morning swim. It was raining outside so I can’t blame him for using the outdoor pool. Wait, you think the money you donate goes towards helping keep this website going? Oh you poor deluded fools. Anyway, Dale started to flash the secret scheduler sign which is a five minute modern dance routine incorporating ballet, hip hop, jazz and a freestyle section which expresses the dancers innermost feelings. When a scheduler uses this signal, it means they want one of there courses on tour, and no matter how good or bad the course is, we are required by law to use it. Dale, I said, not Connemara, anywhere but there. He just grinned as he landed a impressive grand jete. I told him, I was going to treat the webbers this week with a trip to Brazil and use the scheduler petty cash to hire Copacabana beach for the day for a massive party. As he gracefully slid down a dancers pole, he replied that I was always complaining about not enough events being set in Ireland so here was a chance. Connemara is like the Alabama of of Ireland I shouted, a bit to loudly to be honest nearly causing him to miss a Fouetté turn en a la secondè for which I humbly apologize. He shrugged his shoulders which is a difficult to do in the middle of a triple pirouette but the conversation was over, rules are rules and that is the true story of why ye guys are playing in the west of Ireland this week and not Brazil.

Was looking forward to this one... especially having now cleared my 2 demotions marks Curtosy of back to back 9th place finishes... Very nice course which should have low scoring in the lightish winds of the first 3 rounds, although you can leave yourself some tricky putts if you don’t hit the right spots.. Probably ruined any chance I had with a very poor start in round 1... silly mistakes which had me evens after 8 holes before a birdie run on the back.. will deff gain some shots on the field in the high winds in round 4 where I had my best round Overall really enjoyed the course
-8 -11 -11 -12. 42 total
Outside chance of another top 10 we will see

I’m heading into this week with demotion marks next to my name for the first time... but I did it in style! I got a double demotion last week! LOL Looking forward to this course, as I’ve always been a fan of the purity with which coruler2 can sculpt a golf course. Hoping for good vibes and a low score!

Lovely course, but didn’t do it justice on the greens. Bit of ‘after the Lord Mayors show’ for me and currently 2 worse than Vikki after 2 rounds.
Good luck all.
DP.

Well, there's a lot of positives about this week, but I am likely going to miss the cut by a little bit. The biggest and most important positive is that my tempo and overall experience playing my rounds was very acceptable and I had a good time doing it. I hit 86% GIR in the first two rounds and my scrambling was 100%, so I should've been bogey-free but I had one 3-putt from 52' on hole 10 of R2 that set me back one shot.
I missed SO many putts by fractions, so despite only being -10 at the cut line, I'm so pleased with my ball-striking I'm not that upset. It was a couple of those rounds where you look at them and believe that you're a few inches away from 5 or 6 shots better in each round. Here's the biggest bummer of the tournament:
Putt Accuracy - Short = 100% Putt Accuracy - Med = 83.3% Putt Accuracy - Long = 11.1% <---- so basically I miss nearly every putt of 10+ feet I look at. LOL
I'm guessing it's another missed cut, but at least this week I see a light at the end of this tunnel.

I love this course. To me it's nearly perfect in mixing tough and fun. The bunkers on the 11th in the fairway are some of the best looking bunkers I've seen. The mammoth par 5 18th is great. Nearly half a mile long but, even in high headwinds, can be easy. I think the length and tee shot over water make you think the hole is tougher. And that's a lot of what I like about the course - it appears more intimidating than it actually plays... That World Cup of design contest was like free DLC of awesome courses.
Went -6, -8, -7, and was -10 after 16 in the 4th rd. And then, the Very Slow upswing rears its ugly head, shanking it into the drink. IIRC double bogey and birdie to finish at -9, -30 total.

After taking a week off while on vacation i had a pretty shaky practice round here and tempo issues all over...but had to play all 4 rounds today regardless due to work and i got it all straightened out and hopefully will make my first cut here on the Web. Shot -8, -10, -10, -8 = -36 and was quite possibly the best ball striking I've ever had late round 1 through round 3...even putted extremely well for me and still burned so many edges. I burned edges on several putts, chips, and full iron shots that could have been a few more birdies and eagles...either way i'm pretty happy with a -36 despite a 3 putt bogey on 18 to end the tourney.

So there's some pretty good scoring going on this week - going to have to buckle down if I want to stay in the top 10! Love that 18th hole shortcut - literally bounced around the right edge of the water in R2 after a Fast downswing...stayed out of it by a foot. Got up and down for birdie for what I believe is my lowest TGC2019 round to date. Going to need another one of those if I want to contend for the win!

Really enjoyed this as a tournament course, as I suspected I would when it came out in World Cup of Design. I’m disappointed I’m not competing in R3 and R4! Good luck Doyley!

I played this weekend and did terrible. Didn’t even make top10 on PC with most of the field yet to play. Sad I made the cut on the PGA event, and then I stunk on my own design

After missing the cut in my first tourney it looks like I’m gonna finish top 20 in my second start...at least I know I can somewhat compete here now.
