This course definitely favoured those people who could hit that F/F shot and get past those scattered bunkers at the 285 mark and just fly over them. Even a P/F or P/S wasn't enough many times to get by them but F/F, with 10 yards to spare. That is a shot that is just not in my cycle.

I get a lot of P/F and would land and had no idea which way that ball would bounce. And more often than not it was in the bunker or rough.

Finished up my 4 rounds today -5, -9, -5, -7 = -26 Was really hoping to move up to Web but doubtful that happens with that score.
Not much to say about this course that already hasn't been said. F this course...least enjoyable rounds I've played in TGCT. I don't care for courses where great shots get punished so bad and even when i did hit some great shots into the green here's a 10 ft putt with 7 cups of break.

looking at the number of players on each tour, with the D tour being about 30 extra plyers over what they want, im surprised I was promoted from E last week w/ the fast track. and no way will -7 (through 3 rounds so far) promote

We're pretty similar players. some of the scores in the D class though.... damn! I bet i'll get some demotion marks! I shot 60 and 63 on the first 2 rounds and im in 59th place! If I shot 60 and 63 in E that would probably be good for the LEAD!

I noticed with a lot of those hazard placements you're better off in the rough with a wedge than laying back. I was f/f not caring if I found fairway or not, and I missed ALOT. not that the scores shows it<my point> Anyway my opinion, this course is going to play hard for most people, and for all wrong reasons. Hoping for a lucky bounce in your 10 yard wide landing area with all these crazy hills. A promotional event shouldn't be a lottery. Course is pretty good, but for God's sake open up those landing areas just a wee bit! i don't like courses that scatter bunkers all around the 285 mark, then drop back to a 3 wood and hey what do you know, more scattered bunkers in the landing spot. its cookie cutter when courses do that and I don't like it. I actually don't have much of a problem hitting into them, but its still ridiculous with a 4 yard wide fairway with bunkers all over the landing zones. I've been working on my 90-95% driver shot. It's very useful to have and doesn't take too long to perfect if you give it 10mins on the range.

I should note that the course is just fine. It is a fun course and testing. I wouldn't mind playing it on the tours. My gripe was more about that as a promotional event it wasn't a good choice in my opinion. I know I shoot far better than my scores reflect. I have even won a tournament but on a course like this it is all about the lucky bounces instead of the skill one might possess. My assumption of such a choice was to allow as many people from the lower tiers to have a chance of getting into the top 10. Mission accomplished. Almost half of the top 11 are from the CC tour with the average difference of strokes between round 1 & 2 at 5.6 strokes. Conditions were pretty similar and not as bad as round 3 & 4. Normally you see one round across the board easier than the other, in this case we see no such data. There were 56s shot first round and 55s shot second round and only one person who was able to shoot sub 60 each round. Why? Wasn't really the conditions. It was the luck of the bounce.
I really hope future promotion events are played on courses that require skill at the constant to get in the top tour.

Prediction time? PGA cut line: -45 Euro cut line: -35 Web cut line: -31 Thoughts? It's hard to tell for Euro and even harder for Web because they are trying to top up the numbers in those tours. For Masters clubs users who are in the Challenge Circuit you obviously remove anyone using Pro clubs but you also have to remove anyone who is already on Euro or Web. Web players can take out the Euro players who are ahead of them from the equation. Can't top up those tours with people who are there already! I'm 121st at the moment, but if you take out all the Pro clubs players plus the Web and Euro players I'm 33rd! Shame my third round was crap
I'm guessing -22 makes Web from the Challenge Circuit. I hope it's a bit lower though....

Got a local friend that finally joined the tours couple months ago. He just last week bumped up from D to C. And he shot (-31) here and hoping to make A. I told him he might be surprised and make it to Web. Hard to tell what's going to happen....

Start the downswing before you get to the top?
