Hey guys. I have a very unique putting style where I utilize an extremely short swing. It keeps my putts almost perfectly straight and leaves my tempo line really short. I just recently joined TGC tours and with everything I’ve read recently, I’m concerned that this won’t pass their API. Any feedback is appreciated.

The short putt swing really is a thing. I discovered not long into TGC19 that if you barely pull the stick back just enough for the golfer to move the putter then barely move it forward you can get a laser straight putt line more often than not. Problem is you lose all feel for how hard to hit it. So I don’t use it at all now. My putt lines suck. But this could be an advantage for those 5-10footers. You would not want to use it on anything longer. Too easy to accidentally putt before the stick is back far enough.

Don't stress about it. If you're playing legit and trigger the api you'll be in the company of very few others. Just play how you play and 99.9 percent you're good

And for your information I've been playing for over a year without any issues I just developed the new putting style and was worried if I caused a problem because it's so straight I know using a straight stick will get you caught every time. |
