Edit: updating the OP with the main USE ranking and stats table at the top for ease of reference:
Scoring average on USE is 70.25 (median of 1096 total rounds played) compared to IRL PGA pros' median round of 70.7, so this is as good as it gets for realism in this game!
Below are the Four sacred pillars of Ultra Sim.
1) No loft box (ever, including for draw/fade)
2) No loft box (ever, including for draw/fade)
3) turn off follow cam before you start
4) No out of turn ghosts
Ok so thanks to hammers1man for badgering me to get this up and running, I've definitely got the bug again and I'm really excited about it now especially as it's going to be on PS4 as well. Edit: and now on XB1 as well, thanks PaKaLoLo77 !
In the most concise way possible, this is basically TST but with no loft box, no follow cam and no marker. The whole point is to replicate real golf as much as possible with this game, and it definitely ticks the box in that regard. Here's a video complete guide to ultra sim, starting with a presentation and then applying the ideas in a practice round at Oakmont:
I've also reproduced the powerpoint slides from the vid so they're always accessible when a curious noob opens this thread

Busy with work but definitely got time to set this up for the Xbox Society. If anything I’ll ask for help with details on setting it up just to make sure it’s all the same on all platforms. Really looking forward to this! Thanks to all those involved for getting this going 🤙🏽

One thing I have to say is that the great RCR's we are going to play are going to have some realistic protection now, no dialling in and ripping the course to pieces. You have to have be on your A game to score really well, always going for the pin is a thing of the past and drawing and fading the ball to the pin is all about timing now so real skill is needed. You will be consistently be in between clubs and choosing to hit a 95% shot and bringing that front bunker into play is a big reality or just play it safe with a full shot, these are real golf decisions the pro's have to make. I find myself playing shorter shots with draw for added distance, aiming centre green then hitting a faster downswing to try to find tucked away left sided pin now. This is absolutely the best way to play if you really enjoy a realistic sim experience, don't just take my word for it see for yourself when it starts on Sunday when we'll be teeing off the season on CLV's fantastic RCR of Oakmont Country Club
