Should someone go into the PGA thread and make a snide remark about a flick swing to redirect some of the website traffic away from here? Just brainstorming... It's been several weeks since a good "flick" thread. No shortage of pro vs. master clubs though. sigh

Hi guys, first post! signed up to say I'm slowly playing through every course here, and loving it!
I had TGC2, and had a quick look at the designer, but didn't even know then that you could start with a blank canvas! So i'm here thanks to CrazyCannuck. I decided this time round, i was going to make the desginer work no matter what. I found his tutorials, discovered the magic of starting with zero holes, and taught myself (with crazycannuck's help of course) how to make a course. I've made my first course, took a long time! I was pretty please with it at first, till i realised (what i'd always suspected,) that a lot of the courses on the game were designed by players. But i like my little course, there's something on every hole i'm proud of but i'm just realising now the enormity of what i need to do to make an actually good course. I've got the eye for making "playable" holes, i think, for the most part my course makes you play good shots. I've realised it's probably "too" hard though, with some overly small greens (i wanted to force accuracy!) What i definitely work on tho is aesthetics, and finding more variation in my holes. I've been making mental notes, and even quite a few written notes for hole ideas, layouts, and aesthetic ideas to imporve my pallete. It's very annoying when you see something you like and you're not sure how they did it! But my aim is to, maybe by the next game, be making "good" courses, and i'd love to one day have one that is considered for putting in the game.
Anyway, gone off topic a bit there! Then also watched some of CC's course critiques and then found the WC of design, and then found my way to this forum! It's funny reading people who've probably know each other for ages having their little gripes! I've seen that from other forums i'm on.
Some of the courses in this competition are absolutely spectacular guys, huge props. My probable favourite hasn't been featured in the youtube videos yet! But pretty much every one i've played should be in the game. I'd love an expanded tour, maybe even US and European, where you have to pick and choose your events, then we could get all these courses in there!
Anyway, just wanted to make an introductory post and say loving this competition and the fact it's helped me find tons of new courses and opened up the game for me a bit. Good luck all!

I hope you don't let some of the silliness deter you from the community. You actually hit the nail on the head that many of us have been around this forum for years, so quite a bit of what you're witnessing is actually sarcastic banter and ribbing, which is perfectly acceptable (especially in the form of a gif). But I do apologize if my whining on Tuesday was a turn-off. We're actually a pretty docile crew most of the time, and looking forward to seeing your designs.

Results threads created...the suspense builds! Yup, putting some time in at the TGC Tours office today. We're on track to have results by the dates in the OP as promised. Also, the Twitter pop for all of these courses will start this weekend as well.

Wouldn't want you to do anything rash ... LOL Queuing up Van Halen ...

Yeah, I've been a member of a smallish forum for a few years now, and decided to take a hiatus a while back coz sometimes things get a bit personal (not that i was directly involved, maybe joining in tho!) and that gets a bit boring after a while, can take away from the forum's purpose. Anyway, I think i'm a good judge of genuine antipathy and what's probably people being sarcastic to someone they know...
Anyway, you certinly didn't "deter" me in any way! Forum generally seems really well natured, fun, and informative. I'm here to get tips on my designing! Making some friends along the way would be a bonus...
I'm looking forward to showing my designs! But it may be some time before i'm happy enough to share! (tho i may bug some people in PM asking them to play my course and give me feedback...)

I play every single course that hits the completed course thread. More than happy to be on your list of testers. It's the least I can do for all the time it takes to make these things.

I wondered if there were some people who just play every course. Must be how my course got to 4 plays It seems 4 plays is quite common as a minimum, tho i've seen some stuck on zero too...
Really appreciate the offer man. I'll add you as a friend if that's ok then
