Thanks for playing my course. I finally got a chance to watch it. I tried several times to join you guys live but my internet hates twitch apparently. The course has been submitted to the TGCTours site but has not been approved yet. Thanks for the kind words, glad you liked it.
Also the green on the second hole par 5 can be reached in 2 if the wind is helping (and a little luck).

Thank You Kent and Greg for giving the course a playthru review ...
Overall I agree with most of what you guy's said with the exception of the greens ... LOL
I don't know about the 9 square rule you guys talk about.
My interpretation is an approximate 3x3 square area (9 square Meters/ approx 100 sq.ft.) around the cup/pin/hole, to be void of yellow lines. This has always be a subjective interpretation, and I always cut slack, if the yellow (line) is less than 2 feet long and only at most, no more than two yellow lines falling within the 100 foot area around the cup (this is because of a publishing anomaly that occurs every so often).
And then, it also depends on the default green speed ... Max green speed (187) is more severe than medium fast (150-160) range, and the roll-out isn't as wicked.
This is the only real gripe I have on the "Yellow Line syndrome" ... I also feel that it's ok, to have Yellow lines on the greens for ridges, or plateaus on a green. As long as they aren't too severe ...
Putting within a 10 foot range is almost too easy as it is now, and if too flat, way to easy to sink 30 footers and a consistent basis. My philosophy, is to make the 6 foot putt an iffy putt. 3 footer should also bring a bead of sweat to the brow, at least on one or, two of the greens, for every pin placement set for 18 holes ...
Keeps a person from getting too comfortable ... LOL ... However, if your putter's hot, no "Fair" green assault will work.
Again, thanks for giving me the opportunity to watch you two, play my course.
Hope you enjoyed it more than your putting skills failed you ... LOL

You have a point David. I think we will be playing all the courses with default settings instead of our settings. I flagged your course as tournament ready. Great course bud! Being a ranger in the past, we were always sticklers on that 3 x 3 rule and will continue to be!  |

Being a ranger in the past, we were always sticklers on that 3 x 3 rule and will continue to be! Thank You again ... Rehashing the " Yellow line" issue, sometimes when you're working in the editor, and smoothing out the greens around the pins, you may think you have " eliminated" the offending yellow line(s) near the pin. However, while it may look like all green lines within the "9 square rule" ... You may be just on the border line between green and a yellow line. The Published course will mysteriously cast yellow lines, where they weren't there prior. And, this is why I believe that publishing test course releases are alway necessary before final release ... especially, if you changed anything around the tee boxes, or greens ... For an old man like me, it's hard to remain/stay focused on 72 pin locations, and if I had altered anything after a 100 plus hours or, more, looking at all 18 holes ... I know ... a cheap and lame excuse ... but, in my defense ... I only have one active brain cell left ... and it's on vacation ...  |
