Well I definitely ended up turning a semi-promising week into a BUST. -5, -7, -2, -2 Total -16 I absolutely could not keep the bogeys off the scorecard in the last 2 rounds. The addition of a few double bogeys in there didn't help my cause. Hit lots of sand and water in those last 2 rounds as well. Not sure that will be good enough to top any of you rivals! Bro how did you end up in CC-c hopefully I can drag you with up the ranks, although -16 will be a long way back this week

I've been bitten by the "pitch instead of chip selected" bug a bunch in the last week. Not just on this course either. I don't recall having that issue at all really until now. Anyone? I have not had this but I was with a GHOST yesterday where the ball went FLYING over the green (I laughed) and figured this was what happened.

Too much time designing! Right there with ya. My game is pretty much gone. I'll be getting my second red mark this week, and maybe two at that.

After a frustrating start, round 4 hooked me back in. Was expecting my 3rd straight in between week (no marks either way). Started -6, -6, -7 which had me in 33rd now. Just dropped in a -13 in round 4 for a -32 overall. Probably gonna be just outside of getting one of those fancy green thingys but nice to have a good round for a change.

Congratz to Steph Usher from our CC-C banter group.... promotion looking imminent for you mate. I couldn't catch Pat or Jamie as -3 & -5 for the final two rounds left me on 18 under & 3 strokes shy for the event. That was a real course & you won't find a jar in my kitchen cupboard!! I'm a lefty so had this 49ft putt for birdie after a fast downswing approach left me on the top tier of hole 1 on round 4. Could have chipped, pitched (lol no way) or flopped as the line to the pin was obstructed but decided to use the slope & putt...... See y'all week 4

Nice putt Sam.
I think that if you play well on a course you generally like it. I thought it was fun. Particularly like bouncing shots in and using contours.
Well played all,
DP.

Seems this course is tough for some players (me) without any real reason.

Yeah good putt Sam, and well done to Steph for getting another promotion mark. I kept my best round for last scoring -8, I wasn't too sure about the course, it was a good challenge but I think the look of it put me off.
Anyway on to next week and Idleswind Point, I've never played it so a brand new course to me. I might take part in the promotion event as well, might no do anything on it but it's good to see how you measure up against other flights, anyone else playing it?

Yes well done DP, nice shooting. It's my aim to beat you once before you get promoted, because if I do I'll be getting one of those little green ticks myself. On reflection I've had a decent week undone by a horrific run on the front 9 in round 4, 38% GIR tells the story, without that I wouldn't have been far away myself. My current thought is I'm not going to bother playing this promo event. Judging by my results I'm clearly at the right level at this moment, I'd hate to have one good tournament and then struggle every week. Anyway, it's not so bad around here Good luck if you go for it!

I will be giving the promo event a whirl but measuring 7,500 yards I'm not sure the pro clubs will be enough!!!

Threw down a marker last night boyos. Like last week this course suited my eye. Pro clubs might not have the distance but with roll-out and planning it was gettable. However am away all week so will have to cram the remaining 3 rounds in on Saturday. Feel the pressure......
Play well all,
DP

Just when you think you have this thing figured out, my demotion marks and I shoot 60 in the first round. Three more of those, and we'll see what we see.

The first 3 players of our rivalry have completed our first round, and Steph Usher looks like the kingpin of Gotham with a -16 round. Whilst me and Les Sangster are a couple of riddlers as we both scored eagles and double bogies in the front 9. My eagle coming in the shape of a hole in one on the 3rd hole.
It's early days but are we going to find our dark knight or the joker in our pack?
