Luckily remembered to switch back to the pro clubs after playing the first two rounds of the Promo with Masters. Thankfully I had packed my 04.30am survival pack............... Followed up a 1st round score of -12 with an underwhelming 5 under par for a frustrating half way mark of -17.

Well I had an eventful first round. Only birdied 1 of the first 8 holes. Putted it off the green at 4, went splash at 5 and 3-putted 7. +2 thru 8. Then birdied 9 of the last 10 to get back to -7! Not the score I was looking for but after that disastrous start I'll take it. Good luck to all the newbies!

My first week in CC-A
Started off like a storm with a first round -12 but then bounced right back to earth with a -1 after hitting the water no less than 4 times.
-7 , -7 to finish with an overall -27
Not an easy course this one with plenty of water and small upturned saucer greens.
I am hoping thatthis will be around the middle of the pack which I will take for my first event on CC-A

moved up from the Promo from D. Im gonna be terrible here but I'm here anyways.
Probably gonna stick with pro clubs though, too many issues with Master clubs, so I appear to have reached my pinnacle.

I'm afraid to venture into the Euro forum. Think I'll just stay here. I'll most likely be back in 10 weeks anyway! Good luck to all.

Same here. Up from D. Used pro clubs in the promo event. Plan to stick with them until a few weeks before the next promo event. Hopefully can stick around A for the next few months learning the masters club ropes.

Guess I could watch a few ghost rounds but curious for those shooting -12 and lower so consistently. Are the approaches on par 3s and 4s always inside 10 feet or making multiple medium to long putts? I think i have a good make % inside 10 feet and make a few medium to long putts but just can't seem to hit inside 10 feet more than 8-9x per round. Maybe I need to work on drawing and fading the ball into pin positions more?
Thanks for any feedback...just trying to get to that next level. I've had numerous double digit under par rounds but too many -6 to -9 mixed in.

When I have a good round it's usually because I'm scoring by: 75% of the time I'm sticking the approach within 10 feet and making the putt, 20% of the time I'm sinking a long putt (over 20 feet), and 5% of the time I'm holing out from off the green/making a 40+ foot putt.

Welcome to all the new guys and gals.
Fired up my music playlist reducing John to a lost cause and ventured out into the unknown a day later than usual. Forgot to change back to them pro clubs after last weeks' adventure and hit the ground running. Just last week I posted a video of a nearly hole out saying I've never made an albatross in tgc3. Second hole today
Birdie, alby, birdie, birdie start... and then the music stopped, geez. Took me 3 holes to figure that the shuffled playlist started with the last song and loop was disabled. In the same time a lipped out birdie putt, a par on iron-reachable par 5 and a 3 putt bogey, smh. Really did not want to quit playing and fix, but then my daughter told me about alt/tab, who-hoo! (think next time imma gonna loop Not now John all 4 rounds, prolly wont pass the forum filter though I guess)
Anyways music restored, birdie trail and I synced again - opened 1st round with 57 shots. Happy bunny
What a difference a round makes - went out for another one - this time round putter went hole burning all day long, I even had the pleasure of having 2 putts go through/over the hole....weird. This time round all I could manage was 5 under for the round. Not happy bunny
Think i'll stick to the master clubs for now, might change on short notice too, will see.
Good luck all

Ashton Fox sounds like i need to hit closer approaches. do you draw/fade the ball a lot to tucked pins or just go right after it? with long irons sometimes i'll draw/fade but not as dialed in with judging it

I'll try to find a landing area or use the slope of the green to my advantage. Some of the spots I pick to land the ball are high risk/high reward. The biggest thing I've learned that helped my game is not to always aim for the pin but rather to the area of the green that gives you the best putt.

Well looks like I'm joining the CC-A party after the promo event. I'm jumping up from CC-F so I'm sure I'm in for a rude awakening but looking forward to the competition all the same. See you all out there!

High guys first week on CC-A up from C through the promotion event. I’m just going to try and finish top 100 every week and avoid demotion marks.

Hi all,
Also new to CC-A as of this week - moved from CC-C to here through the promo event. Normally play my rounds early in the week but this week I will be playing them just before the deadline because of a trip abroad.
Curious to see whether I can be competitive at this level.
Best wishes, Frans
