No one's fault but my own as it was the first time I had used these options: - 9 yard greenside chip, select my lob wedge, adjust my loft and BAM Full Normal Swing sent the ball into a different area code. (note to self, when chipping, make sure you have selected "chip") Obviously not the sharpest tool in the shed, the next round I did the exact same thing (albeit on a different hole). I did enjoy it though... was a nice refreshing change of pace to play that way. Sorry to laugh bud, but I think we have all done some form of this at some time or another, lol. Thanks. The worst part was on the downswing, when I realized what I had done, and what is about to happen, you have that "Oh Sh*&" moment. I actually wished I had put it in the ocean, as getting the shot back with the penalty would have been better than having to play it from where I ended up. On the second one, it was a more subdued reaction. More along the lines of "Again? Geez louise, I'm an idiot".

...Spectacular score and spectacular stats, a total of 8 putts over 4 rounds. Must be a record. Missed this before. What's that then? 8 putts over 4 rounds? Please don't tell me folks are green chipping to get around the no putting grid, as that would seem to kind of circumvent the purpose.

Just finished up the Feb No Training Wheels Tour and the Tournament at La Valle Glaciale.
Finished all 6 on the Tour at an aggregate score of +1.
At La Valle, went 70, 67, 69, 66 for -16. Much more enjoyable and fun this way. When you make birdie or better, you really feel like you earned it.
I'm on PS4 and congrats and nice shooting to blueorfe(Bradley). Very well played at -30.

And while he did have a couple of awesome chip ins from the fringe and first cut, no funny business. HB's stats are broken.

Cool, that's reassuring. It didn't seem to make sense that someone would play a game with these options to do something like that.

Love this setup also, even though I'm quite horrible at putting. First round 83, almost all was due to putting. Second round, shot a 73, did much better, but if I could putt I could have easily saved 5 strokes. Enjoy the challenge though, and look forward to this setup in the future.

83 to 73, that's some improvement!
Part of the putting success is actually knowing the course and not hitting the ball in stupid places on the green... Another thing that becomes more realistic with aids off.

Another thing that becomes more realistic with aids off. Yes - really nice improvement. The beauty with playing all aids off, is that practicing the course can really improve your score to a much higher degree than playing with all aids on. Knowing the greens and approach really minimizes those 3 putt holes.

Im all for scores being low. But some courses bring to much luck into it rather than skill. Unless you play a few practice rounds on certain courses with the grid before u play the it with out the grid. There is no way to tell which way they break with the graphics on the green. I swore by tiger sim but you could see the break with the detail higher on the greens. Its fun to play but doubt it could be used on the tours.

Choked it up with a measly 71 in round 4 this week for a -19 total. Despite having home field advantage. That 59 that is on the board from the current leader is impressive.
Have to say that scoring so far on Tobo is about what I would expect if top ranked amateurs or pros around 200th or so on the world ranking would come play the course IRL - so quite realistic. There would most definately be a huge chance for a sub 60 due to the short holes leaving at least 4-5 eagle opportunities per round.

I thought so too. Chokage.... Leaky approaches and edge-burners.
Playing with the ghost of the top guy and watching him go to -6 after 5 didn't help.

Pleasantly surprised to see this much interest in the hardcore direction, if I can get my head dug out of the GNCD I'll have to give this a go! Cheers!

I applaud all of you that play this way. Love to play once in a while with aids off, but its very time consuming and tedious for me. After attempting to read the greens for a painfully long time, its still an utter guess for me (seems like I'm always wrong). I'm not talking about the amount of break......can't tell if its left or right. Not sure if its like that on other systems, but on the ps4 I can't see any break more times than not. My hats off to all of you. Like anything else, there is a learning curve, just need to keep playing and learn I guess.
