.....but, try the metronome thing, because that's not weird. And saying Ernie Els 71 times an hour isn't weird either? Lol Not knocking that mate.what works for you. Isn't it the same thing though? It's still a tempo thing. I listen to two clicks and you use a mantra.

You've never played drums or guitar? No concept of rhythm? So, you can cheat, but DON'T USE PRO CLUBS! Madness, man.

I used the click device for one round ( my worst scoring round) still helped with tempo though. It's a game, it's supposed to be enjoyable, I stopped enjoying it cos I couldn't get the tempo down even after hours and hours of practise. It APPEARED to be so random. I've now proved to myself it was user error. Don't label me a cheat. I hate cheats. As I said, I've played this game from its initial release and never even contemplated using any mods, even caused me to leave society after society. I don't care about winning, never have. All I care about is enjoying the game and improving my abilities. Honestly though if dummies are going to be thrown out of prams OR if the powers that be at TGC Tours say it's not allowed then I'll happily start saying 'Earnie Els.. It's just a game after all. Far more important things to be stressing about in my life lol

I tried the "metronome thing". Doesn't work too well with a mouse . Just curious though....I have no rhythm because I am a white guy, but if I prayed to God and asked to give me some rhythm would I be accused of using an outside source and being a cheat?

Only if he whispers "click click click" in your ear.

Using a metronome to help improve tempo, is the very definition of practice....

Sorry guys, I was busy with the "other" hot thread and didn't see these posts until now... ... didn't know that giving a tip on how to solve tempo issue would create such a fuss! I mean, I keep reading since tempo was brought to this game that people have issues with it, claiming that it's random, etc... Well as someone that as played guitar for a long time, you learn quickly that a metromone is your best friend to develop great tempo, which is kind of a must in music... and more than you think in competive sports! So after all those club distance charts that people are using, mapping out courses, click wanting to know how many clicks to this or that side for the wind... etc... practicing with a metronome so some players could fix their tempo issues, yes it's a "user problem", and finally enjoy this great game? After all the "funky" stuff that's been going on and talked about in these forums? A century (ies?) old device called a metronome should be viewed as non-ethical here? Oh well, at least now I'm glad that some guys are hitting the range now, practicing with a goal (fix their tempo) in mind and actually getting positive results. Btw, I posted that tip when TGC2 came out, so nothing new here! Speaking of real PGA players, don't they have specific swing coaches, watch tons of videos, use devices/trics/aids, hit tons of golf balls everyday on the range, spend tons of $$$, all that with the ultimate goal of developping a great repetable swing that won't fail them? So that maybe, depending of the player's goals and habilities, they can keep that PGA card, win some tournaments, have a career, make some money? I guess that all that stuff should be outlawed in the real golfing world too!

I played a few rounds with it ticking continually, then turned it off. If anything, it's helped me to slooooooowww down my downswing to eliminate the VFs. I still struggle with pitches and chips, but that's next on the practice list. Appreciate the tip!

I guess that all that stuff should be outlawed in the real golfing world too! Yeah I'm not sure what people's objections are, it's a training aid for people who struggle with rhythm. When I first started getting IRL golf lessons my coach recommended getting a grip training aid attachment to groove a feel for how my fingers and thumbs should be, it made me realise I was doing it very, very wrong, and it worked wonders for my strike quality. I'd never personally use a metronome for the game because just LOL @ metronome muppets, but I'm 99% certain that anybody who does use one is not likely a top player and needs some assistance purely to stop them from sucking donkey balls (please let's not have a #donkeygate, it's a metaphorical expression, nothing more) when it comes to tempo. Once those wonky-rhythmed goons get practice with the assistance, just like an IRL grip training aid they will develop the natural feel soon enough to no longer need it. Same as how you only need to chart lofts once, check a handful of times and then the distances are just in your head forever. Nobody as far as I'm aware has any conscientious objection to loft charting, so I'm not sure why anybody feels metronome muppets to be crossing any kind of ethical boundary.

What is the tiebreaker format? Ties will be sorted by clubset (Master, Pro, Beginner), then by lowest round score starting with the 8th (last) and working back to 1st. If there are still ties for cutlines we'll do a countback from the 18th hole in round 8.
Tim will start to implement this over the coming days.
