Just out of curiosity: - Do you click for the wind, or do you estimate based on the number?
- Are you unable to estimate the wind, even with the pointers given in this thread (half full is 12mph), or don't you like being forced into not seeing the number?
- Are you good enough to make a Pro Tour? No offence, I'm just not sure which tour you used to compete on (can't check the Tour Card page as it's blocked out)
Your logic makes absolutely no sense to me whatsoever, but, I'm from Mars. Personally, I'd want to test myself against the best in the game, at the same game, with the same conditions... Each to their own. Regardless, If you end up in CC with your Q scores, good luck getting out with Masters EDIT - You finished +3 in R1 of Q with Pro clubs. I could well be wrong, but I wouldn't get too worried about ending up on a Pro Tour any time soon. Forget about the wind meter, forget about sandbagging and just play the game with the clubset you desire Kelly I click for wind. 1.5 clicks per mph in a straight crosswind. With a partial crosswind, say 8 mph diagonal (arrow pointing down and to the right) I'll get a crosswind speed by percentage. 75% in this case. That gives me a crosswind speed of 50%. and a headwind speed of 50%. So 4mph from the right. 6 clicks to the left. I also add 6 yards to my adjusted distance (4 for the headwind and 2 for the crosswind. I then take elevation and divide by 3. Add that number if below the hole or subtract that number if I'm above the hole and that gives me my adjusted distance. I could probably estimate the wind. I just don't want to estimate. Personal preference. Good enough for a pro tour, I would say no, but I've gotten lucky before and can again; flukes can and do happen and at the dangdest times. Under TGC 2 I played on the CC-C flight. And expect that or less in this new version. As for +3 in Q-school with Pro Clubs, I don't want to use Pro Clubs. I like master clubs. I can usually control them; not every single shot, but way more often than not. They also allow the ball to stick to the green better. And I scored a +1 on my 2nd round; with master clubs.
