We will not go quietly into the night. We will not vanish without a fight. We're going to live on. We're going to survive.

A general consensus that the changes are good? Almost no whining at all about every change made being the absolute worst decision of all-time? It's like I accidentally came to a different forum or something.
Still only played a dozen or so rounds of 2019 thus far and while it seems unlikely that this is the game to bring back my desire to play competitive golf, I like the changes and will probably at least finish Q-School just in case the urge to get back into the Tours hits at some point. Seems likely I'd fall from Web to middle of the CC pack which might actually help motivate me since I always enjoyed my CC days.

My one issue with Q-school is the folks who will sandbag to get a lower tour in order to win tourneys. At this point, I seem to have a handle on the new swing mechanics. But wouldn't it be easy to disguise as so many people are still having difficulty with the tempo. My suggestion would be for all current members, no matter how badly they play Q-school, they could only drop one tier. So from say PGA to Web or from CC-A to CC-B. I'd hate to see someone really sandbag and then dominate the lower tiers. Not fair to those folks who really belong there.

If this happens, sounds like they will just be moved up manually.

First off, love the changes and excited to get it going! Will the promo/ demo marks be an add/ subtract method or will they both show? That info was a little unclear. IE: If I have a promo mark and then finish where I would get a demo, would I have 1 each, or would the promo just go away because I got a demo? If both show, I would assume you couldn't promote up if you have any demos lingering.. Thanks for all the hard work guys! This was my only question reading through the changes. I think maybe getting an example of what happens if a player finishes 8th, 19th, 121st, 10th, and then 140th would be helpful. Love all the changes, minus the quarterly events. I don't dislike that idea, just curious to see how those operate and how much disruption they add to the regular promotion/demotion model.

I would think the slower promo system would deter the baggers as a win is not guaranteed, you still have to post good numbers. Though some need to feel a sense of accomplishment even though it's not REALLY an accomplishment.. ... even when you know, you never know!

Love all the proposed changes and am JACKED for QS! I will struggle mightily, but will enjoy the game no matter where I land.
Question: What if there are not 450 folks playing masters? Will the Web fill out their 150 with the best of the rest? Then force them to use master clubs?

I guess I'm just paranoid. But I really despise cheaters - in anything. Even though we're just playing a video game, it still annoys me. But an automatic move up after a win makes perfect sense. I hadn't considered that. So in the end, all is good.

Changes sound great.
Just to clarify, to have any chance of earning a promotion from cc-a, we'd have to use master clubs?

kodison - my understanding based on your example would be this: 8th place - earn 1 promotion mark 19th place - nothing happens, you still have 1 promotion mark 121st place - you've missed the cut, and the rule states "if you have a promotion mark, you lose 1 promotion mark", so you'd be back down to zero 10th place - earn 1 promotion mark again 140th place - you've missed the cut again, but this time the rule states "if you have a promotion mark, you lose 2 promotion marks", but since you only have 1 anyway, you'll lose that one and then be given 1 demotion mark. So, it's a sliding scale, mostly in a +1/-1 format except for those extremes where 2 marks are lost or gained.

If I was to play all eight rounds with masters clubs and end up with a score that would put me in CC-C, but not enough people play all eight rounds with masters clubs to fill up the Pro tours would I then be put in one of the Pro tours automatically, even if my scores weren't good enough in the first place
