When selecting green speeds in Society events we have these options
Very Fast (187) Fast (164) Medium (144) Slow (119) Very Slow (101) Default
I would strongly suggest you publish default green speeds away from these preset values so that we have one more option available when setting green speeds for tour events. Ie, if you are designing a course for 187 green speeds, publishing at 177 would give us 3 decent options (187, 177, 164) to choose from. If you publish at 187 we then only have two options (187, 164).
Hope that helps!

Ultra-noob here at designing...how do I designate these speeds? You can set the default green speed in the Course Settings --> Green Settings menu. The discrete options described in the OP are the speeds available to tournament admins when they set up the event.

I might have missed something in the designer but I can't see any numbers that range in the 100s in the designer. From what I remember the numbers in the green speed slider are quite low about 1 to 10 if I'm right. How do I find the numbers in the OP?

You only see the numbers Doyley is talking about when you test your course. Just click play from here when your cursor is on the green and you will see the green speed top right of HUD. Then it's just a matter of adjusting the slider of 1 - 10 back in the green settings. It's a bit of a long winded approach but that's how I do it. Edit: just to clarify, 1 in the slider = very slow (101) 10 = very fast (187)

Can use that as a starting point.

Is there any preference on firmness on fairways, rough, etc for publish? Publish it the way you designed it to play, as if there were no custom options.

When selecting green speeds in Society events we have these options Very Fast (187) [8.5] Fast (164) [7.6] Medium (144) [6.5] Slow (119) [5.5] Very Slow (101) [4.5] Although it is reasonably obvious when you are in the designer, I've added to the above the number on the green speed selector in the designer that equates to each speed. Effectively if you choose a whole number for default, it will be different to one of the selectable speeds.

when submitting a course we are only allowed to pick one option of green speeds. Is there any way to denote the range of playable green speeds? Like if I Submitted a course at Medium Green speed but purposefully designed it to also work at Very Fast? Versus another course where the range is smaller. Should I just list this in the Course Description?

Should I just list this in the Course Description? Just put in the speed it was published at. In your course description, just describe the course, try to give us an idea about the course itself. If you have a range of speeds or conditions that you'd recommend, I'd put that in a completed course thread.

Publish it the way you designed it to play, as if there were no custom options. What about wind speed and direction because there isn't any option for that? You can’t control the defaults as they are decided server-side. If there’s a prevailing wind, mention it in your notes, but the course should be playable in all directions (although it doesn’t absolutely need to be good in high-very high winds).
