I had F1 2017 on PS4 and loved it, but didn’t play it as much as I would have liked to do it justice. Kept playing this daft golf game for some reason! I was a bit sceptical about 2018 but having read the reviews, I decided to dive in again.
I agree with Justin, it’s a step up from 17 and the career mode is much more engrossing. I used to skip through practice and go straight to qual and race, but this version seems to be more rewarding to go through the practice sessions, as it gives your team data for the race. I seem to be better with fuel and tyres now as a result.
Driving, even with a pad, seems much better. I can’t put my finger on it, but it just feels great. I started my career with Renault, and been fiddling with the settings to give me a chance of top 10, and maybe a podium if I drive well. Maybe not realistic, but I can’t spend ages driving to finish 16th! If I get a better team, I will ramp up the difficulty.
Not been on line, I reckon I am no where near good enough and can’t do with people taking you out. Unless it’s clean racing, I don’t see the point.
Overall though, I think it’s worth the purchase even if you have 17. I sold my copy of 17, so wasn’t too expensive to upgrade!

Haven't played this series in years and used to play online co-op with a friend on one of the PS3 versions. Does 2018 have an online season type mode where you can play with a friend online against AI opponents? I see it's $30 for black Friday at Best Buy so might be tempted.

I tried a couple of those last year, we did the same night every week for a while, but never seemed to stick with it long enough to finish out a full season lol was good fun while it lasted, though.

Ended up ordering it for Black Friday with a friend. Should have time to play as I only get to have 2 competitive rounds of golf a week

I haven’t moved on from ‘16 yet, but mostly because I split my racing time between CM F1 and Project Cars2. Wish the car setups were a bit more complex in F1, and a little easier in PC2! You practically need a PhD in physics to really optimize a setup in PC2.

I don't tinker with setups too much but I like the way you can ask questions on PC2. I've had my main gaming room out of action for 6 months until recently so have only really been playing TGC. Just getting back into driving games again. I love the single player race format & career simulation in F1 ... but I am struggling a bit going with Williams!
