NOTE: Please do not post on rounds that have not been revealed on the leaderboard. Moderating is in effect and they will be removed. Please use the Locker Room threads to discuss rounds not revealed. Thanks! The Press Tent will be a feature on TGC Tours where you can come in after a round or tournament and answer some questions from the press. You can let off some steam or tell about some great (or not so great) shots. Some of your answers will be used in Tournament recaps. Have fun, keep it clean! Questions (answer as many or as few as you like) - What was the highlight of your round/tournament?
- What was the low-light of your round/tournament?
- What did you think of the course?
- How did you fare on the leaderboard? Who were you trying to beat?
- Ask your own question and answer it!

First in to press Tent is Andi Smith. HI ANDI, HOW HAVE YOUR FIRST AND SECOND ROUNDS GONE?Hi, the easy answer to that is WAH WAH WAH , simple as that really. WOULD YOU CARE TO ELABORATE ON THAT?No not really, WAH WAH WAH . IM GUESSING BY YOUR WHINEING IT WAS NOT GOOD? >:DOh 10 out of 10 for observation, num nut .WHAT WENT WRONG? Do you know something ur starting to bug me now , EVERYTHING WENT WRONG MAN, caddy was crap, player was crap, ball seemed to be square shaped at times. the hole was to small, but hey apart from that everything was fantastic. YOU DID SEEM TO LOSE THE PLOT OUT THERE?Do you think?, anyway may I apologise to the supporters whom I aimed my foul mouth rant at midway through the back nine of round 2, I am expecting a fine from the European tour, hopefully not a suspension but that's for them to decide. WILL YOU HANG AROUND OVER THE WEEKEND, UR -10 THRU 36 DOESN'T SEEM LIKE IT WILL MAKE THE CUT?No im off now, driving range, putting green, and as many practice rounds at kobeoshi royal as possible. TONY McGETTIGAN AND NATHAN ALLEN SEEM TO HAVE SCORED WELL? >:DOH GREAT STICK THE KNIFE IN A LITTLE BIT MORE , Yes they have haven't they, both high up on the leaderboard, hope they both have a good and peacefull weekend with me not being here. THANKS ANDI SEE YOU NEXT WEEK.That you will. Andi Smith there, very dejected on reflection he seems to have lost some confidence in his game, it will be interesting to see how he reacts in the upcoming weeks. Who's next into the press tent.........

Next up is Chris Bird
Thats a strong showing of -29 for your first couple of rounds Chris, initial thoughts? Solid is the first thing that comes to mind, everything seemed to click. I managed to put the ball in the right spots and leave myself good looking birdie putts.
Heres the highlight of your 2nd shot at the par 5 3rd hole, what was going through your mind when you hit it?
Its just one of those lucky shots where all you're trying to do is hit the green. As soon as I hit the shot there was the usual shout of "Get in the hole" but the same moron usually shouts that at the tee box on a par 5 too.......this time he was almost right. Would have been nice to get my first albatross but a short eagle putt was a relief as the ball may have raced on through to the bunker had it not hit the pin.
What are your thoughts on the weekend and how the weekend will go? Hopefully looking for more of the same. Theres still alot of big names to post their first two round scores so we won't really know until Friday as to how compact the top of the leaderboard is. I'll definately be keeping an eye on Brionne's scores as he's been on fire lately with a couple of top 5 finishes. One thing we do know is that a new winner of the season will be crowned champion as Andi looks like he'll miss the cut after listening to his press conference just now and Scott has gone back to the States to see if he can become the first player to win on both tours.
Any plans between now and the weekend? No, not a whole lot. Looks like I'll be in for some shoveling with this storm that came in ,probably won't be good for my golf game but oh well. Hoping everyone in the North East stays safe. Talk again after my 3rd round.
Thanks Chris, who's up next?

Next up we have another early finisher of 36 holes, Dave Mills
Wow, this place seems awful quiet today. Must be a slow news day when the press wants to speak to me.
Yes, there hasn't been a lot of activity yet. So what are your impressions after two rounds?
Well, going in there was a lot of talk about how "easy" this course was. Personally I didn't really buy into it, as there are a some tough greens here. Lots of undulations, and even some spots where from 10-12 feet out you could find some nasty double breakers right at the hole.
My practice rounds didn't really give me a lot of confidence when I started the week here to boot.
Tell us about the first round, opening with a 64, right?
Yeah, 64 which I thought might be okay, until I saw my first leaderboard. I opened with a routine par at the first, but holed a wedge from 147 on the 2nd for eagle. That got me pumped for the shortish par five 3rd. Was looking for at least a bird, but came away with a disappointing par there. I just could not get anything going with par, par, par, all the way to number 9, Then miraculously made 6 straight birdies from 9 to 14, three more pars and finished with birdie at 18.
What about today's round?
Coming in, I thought -16 was the number for the cut, so I figured another 64 or better was needed. I played the front better today, 5 under at the turn. So I am thinking, it's starting to go my way. Then came the second 9. Par at 10 followed by a disaster at 11 where I made bogie. The round coulda went south right then. I regrouped with par at 12, and three straight birdies at 13, 14, and 15. I knew I needed to birdie 18 to hit my number, but a poor approach shot left me a twisting 25 footer for birdie that burned the edge.
So your sitting at -15 at the halfway mark, where do you think that will leave you?
Honestly, right now I don't know. If I were a betting man, I would say I'll miss the cut by a stroke. But with so many players yet to post a first round score, let alone a second, we'll just have to wait and see.
Any ideas on why so few scores have came in thus far?
Well, this is only an opinion, but I think it might have to do with the wind. My practice rounds all came with a consistent 5 mph wind, and each time I played it was coming from a consistent direction. When I played my tournament rounds the winds got up to around 11 mph, and the direction was different than what I had practiced in. Some players might be waiting for a more favorable condition, I don't know.
Don't get me wrong, I am not using the wind as an excuse for my scores, as my tournament scores were pretty consistent with my practice rounds, and I shot my target scores each day. You asked me what I thought, so I told you.
So what's next for you after Dubai?
It all depends, if I make the cut, I would like to play at the Farmers Insurance Open, as I like the Fickett/Herbert design at Bailiwick Grand better than Kobiashi Royal. But if I miss the cut here, I will need to go to Malaysia to try to gain as many Order of Merit points as possible. So right now I have two plane tickets.

Here comes Ewan Baird into the tent with a huge grin on his face.
Excellent first 2 rounds of 56 and 57 placing you top of the leader board so far, no wonder your looking so happy.
Am I dreaming?
I am pretty sure you are not dreaming. Everything just clicked for you today, did anything go wrong?
My first round was my best round of golf to date. I was hitting everything right where I wanted. Almost got a couple of eagles on approach shots just missing the edge of the hole but leaving close birdies. I did miss hit a couple of drives in my second round, but got lucky with the width of some fairways.
What were your expectations for this week after your tied 36th in the Commercial Bank Qatar Masters?
I was really pleased with that result and making the cut was my only goal last week. After my practice rounds I knew I could place well this week and was hoping for a top 10 going into the cut after seeing Tony McGettigan's score of -30. After my first few holes I knew I was hitting well but I am still a bit shocked to have placed so well. There are still many players to post their results so I will have to try and calm down and keep it going for the weekend.
Certainly in a good standing for the weekend. Do you think you could win this week as your first event with your new Tour Card?
Lets not get ahead of ourselves. I will be glad to still be in the top 10. My weekend form has not been the best in my first 2 events.

Up next we have Dan Turner fresh off his opening 2 rounds
So Dan, how did you sum up your play in the opening rounds?
Well I think I shot pretty well. Not quite good enough to be atop the leaderboard, but sitting in a decent spot heading into the last 2 rounds.
Any highlight moments you want to speak about?
Well first a lowlight then I'll get to some highlights. The first par 3 on the front 9 in the opening round was just awful. Pulled the tee shot left and left a sizable birdie putt, which I promptly missed. It got worse as I missed the putt coming back by hitting it way too hard. Had to settle for a disappointing bogie. My goal was to play bogie free.
As for the highlights, well after an ok front 9 in the opening round, I needed a spark and boy did I get one. The short par 4 was reachable in 1 and it landed and rolled just right to leave me a decent eagle chance. Converted that and then eagled the very next hole, the Par 5. That was huge and settled me down knowing I could get to sub 60 in the opening round.
Played very consistent in the second, again aided by an eagle, this time on #10 from 170 or so out. Played the green perfectly and watched it hit and roll right into the cup.
Back to back 59's for -26 should see me safely into the weekend. Now I want to improve on those scores and maybe challenge for the lead.
What is your goal for the final 2 rounds?
Winning obviously(draws a chuckle from the crowd). But seriously, I've improved my finishes each tournament thus far and would love a Top 10 finally. Finished 81st in the season opener, when we had the PGA guys invade, moved up to 18th the following week, then T-15th last week. I feel like I keep playing like I am now, the Top 10's will come, and hopefully it starts this weekend.
Good luck to you in the final 2 rounds and thanks for your time
Thanks for the well wishes and anytime.

So you crossed the pond and are playing in your second European tour, what made you decide to come over?
I grew up in Arizona and I absolutely despise Phoenix and everything about it, especially ASU. Go Wildcats!
I see you are favouring your right hand did you injure it?
I went to the doctor just before my rounds today and was diagnosed with "trigger finger" in my thumb. It is quite painful, especially when putting.
So it affected your game today?
Unfortunately, yes. I couldn't reschedule my tee times and had to play through the pain. Got off to a slow start on the first round but finished with a respectful -13, by the time my second around came it was really hurting. My front nine was good for the approach shots but I was pulling most of my putts. I iced it down as much as I could for the second nine which saved me.
How did you end up over all?
-13, -12. I was hoping to be -28 or better but with the injury what are you going to do? At least i get a day or so off before I play my next rounds. I think it puts me 8th currently but a lot of golfers left.
Were there any highlights you'd like to point out?
I scored an Ace on #5 in the first round. That helped salvage me after paring two of the first four hole. On my second round, I was -5 at the turn with a par on 10, but then I eagled the short par 4, when I placed the ball on the green and made a great 45 foot putt, followed that up with an eagle on the par 5 next hole. That dug me out of my hole.
You think you got a shot to win?
Currently 6 stroke back? I think I'm going to have to shoot -16 or -17 each of the final two rounds to even have a chance. I'm capable, but we'll see how the thumb holds up.
I'm off for now to get some ice and pain meds.

Tony Mc Gettigan is next into the press tent n as hes on his way in hes asking has anyone got a pair of binoculars to lend him.Glad u could join us,what u want binoculars for? Well im lookin for my auld friend Andi Smith but i cant see him hes a little far back Ouch!!Do u 2 guyz ever pack it in n just focus on golf? What would b the point of that? O_oIts just friendly banter between 2 rivals,n i lovvvvve it when i beat him, lovvvvve it!! i'll spell it for u, B-A-N-T.... Ahh just forget it, whats the point.u just dont get it!!! Can we move onto talkin about your opening 2 rounds this week? Most Certainly 30 under after 2 rounds, you gotta b thrilled with that? What a stupid question :Dof course im happy where i'm at thru 2 rounds, especially as someone had laid down the gauntlet with a 16 under par round @ scarpacci on practice , ok i didnt beat that gauntlet but i equalled it round 2 , best round ive had this season so far in terms of ball striking n putting combined together. There was an almighty roar on the 18th hole of your 2nd round, what was that all about? :DDid u have to bring that up, The 18th pin n i had a disagreement lets just say ,i had a very lengthy eagle putt to try n beat the gauntlet i'd being set but it fell short by an inch Out of frustration i hit the flagstick a right uppercut n it rebounded back n hit me flush on the nose .Next question plz? Was wondering why your nose looked red, whats your aspirations for the weekend? My aspirations after round 1 n 2 has to b to try n be in the top 10 again or better. It wont b easy though, a lot of great players here this week, Ewan Baird has set the pace after two great rounds, hes one to watch for sure, as are several behind him in the chasing pack.Just Glad to b making the cuts so far if im honest.Anything else is just bonus territory for me . Now would u please excuse me i gotta go freshen up. ,i wont need Andi Smith being my barber though should i require one,i hear he misses the cut Thanks for your time Tony!! Pleasure!! Who'll be next to enter the press tent, lets wait and see...

Brionne joins the press tent after round 1 So.. Your first round.. How did it go? I heard you had a bit of a fracas out there?Oh my, yes... Starting the round in gusts of 8-13mph, I managed to get reasonably close on hole 1.. and double bogeyed! I blame Acid Flashback!!.. Why is that? Acid was across the pond?Yeah.. he was.. But he decided to come back mid week to mess with us.. On my backswing for the birdie, I hear "I'm the 19th hole!!", and see Acid streaking across the fairway, butt naked, with the words '19th hole' and an arrow pointing to his butt. Clearly he did not use the cash thrown his way by Ewan Baird to buy the pants he so desperately needs... and we all know he'll blame it on his cousin, or his caddy. Just look at this: I think you were lucky to get away with a double after seeing that!Yeah.. Not a great start, lipped the next three holes for birdie, but managed to pull it back a little with an ace on the 8th, and went 3 under after the front nine.. The back nine was fantastic.. I birdied all nine holes to post a respectable -12 for the first round. Do you think you will make the cut?I hope so. Still got 1 round to go. Though the guys are posting incredible scores out there. I'm aiming just to make the cut this week. I think top 10 is way out of my reach. So no fence sitting here... Who do you think is gonna take it?It's going to be a dogfight between the top 3.. Ewan Baird, Chris Bird or Tony McGettigan. I don't see them faltering over the weekend Thank you Brionne, go low or go homeCheers!

You just finished your third round, how did you fair?
Sadly it was my worst round, 59, 60 now 61.
What happened?
There wasn't any one thing. The winds were up early in the round, but I felt I navigated them nicely. The stroke was good, I think it came down to putting. I had four or five birdie putts just lip out. I just didn't have the feeling going, I guess.
You think your thumb injury had anything to do with it?
Probably more than I want to admit. Since the swing is generally dictated by the left hand, full swings and chips aren't an issue, but putting is another story, it seems to pop and snap half of my short strokes.
You are 9 strokes currently out of the lead... you would have to have an amazing and record breaking round I think to win this tournament, so what is your goal now?
I'd like to come out for the final round and beat my best round score of 58 on the tour. Even better I'd like to beat or tie my best score on this course of 55, that would be a sweet finish. If i can do something close with a -14 or -15 I might sneak into the top 10 which would be good enough for me. We'll have to see.
How you enjoying the European tour?
I'm actually enjoying it very much, maybe even a little bit more than the PGA tour. I'll take a look at the future courses and make some decisions soon, but I'd like to play more rounds over on this side of the pond. If you will excuse me, I need to get an ice pack and something cold to drink, preferably with alcohol.

Third round over, How was your round?
All things considered, it could have been worse. I am happy with the -10 but is 5 and 6 strokes more than my first 2 rounds.
What happened out there?
A number of things; missed some putts, misjudged wind and too much expectation on myself to keep up the form after seeing the 2 day leaderboard.
What do you think your chances are for winning this week?
I honestly have no clue now. If I had kept my third round below 60 then I would be saying that the chance is good. However, I think I will make my goal of top 10 if I can bring my full game tomorrow.
Good luck for you final round and the event.
Thanks
