Perfect/perfect is not always perfect. Sounds to me your tempo is a touch off. The perfect/fast/slow have ranges. If you on the edge of perfect you won’t hit a straight shot. When you hit a true perfect it will sound much more distinct and that means you hit the the square. Yep! You can here that “ smack” when you hit the sweet spot. I personally use the “look only at the controller , finger on top, thumb on the bottom “ method and it’s been pretty good to me. Mind you, I use players clubs only. Tried the same method with tour clubs and it just didn’t feel the same. This game is all about feel. There’s probably 82 different methods for holding the controller and managing the stick. I hold the controller in my left hand, with my right thumb at 90 degrees to the right stick (ie the tip of my thumb is at the 9 o’clock position) I flick the stick downward just by contacting the 6 o’clock part of the stick, and then flick it straight up to 12 o’clock for the downswing. Weird, but it works!

Weird, but it works! Yeah i assumed everyone has there different preferences on holding the controller. I can personally say to the person who mentioned tempo being an issue, it isn't I hit perfect perfect almost 90% of the time just working on ironing out the straightness of the movement on the analog to get the best feel. But i've been glad with my success so far, shot a practice round for my event this week and went -12.

Just like to say thanks for all the tips on this thread, went from pulling nearly every shot and having to adjust my aim and approach to compensate to hitting it in the cone nearly every time.
Got my first top 10 last week and just shot -8 in first round this week.
Biggest help to me was not looking at the screen when striking, I did initially struggle with the tempo with this method but half hour on the range sorted that.
Can finally start practising with the tour clubs now.

Good to hear you got things sorted... pay it forward and give one of the newer guys a helpful tip sometime!

Yeah I actually got just the software working to connect the ps4 and use it on my PC. I feel it plays more accurate on PC than Ps4 Uh...what software?

I used a spare micro USB wire from an old phone charger to connect my DS4 controller to my PC.
I have the game for PC and for PS4, and I experience a definite difference in the swing mechanic. On PS4, I can lightly flick the thumbstick forward and get a Perfect downswing every time. On PC, the same mechanic results in my golfer just resetting the club. Instead, I need to make a more methodical downswing.
Same DS4 controller.
I tried using my wired Xbox360 controller on PC and it was a disaster. Tempo and swing plane were all over the place.

I get fast and very fast downswings constantly if I try and play on PC (with both a XB1 stock and a PS4 stock controller).
PS4 I use that same stock controller and I play fine.

Weird, over the past couple of weeks i've mastered both ps4 and PC swings. Played 4 rounds for my CC-D event this week at -36, just took time figuring out the controller but I like it.
