Pretty happy with finishing 19th, although missing out on the exemption by one stroke is kind of disappointing. First event under my belt feels pretty good and is giving new life into my interest of the game. Excited to tee off at Gotham.

R1 winds at Gotham are bad 13-17 mph, front nine, just a fyi. Winds just as bad back nine. My loft and wind calculations in these conditions are clueless. R1 (73) and lucky at that. R2 tomorrow.

Really like Gotham. Just a cool looking course. Managed 2 decent round so far. Just want to clear my strikes.

Is there a way to see before the tournament is up what tees will be used? I did my practicing from the tips, so bumping down to the white tees combined with those winds in R1 made my practice pretty useless.

Well sh%$. There goes any chance I had to make this tourny something special. I have played this course numerous times and have always carved it up. But not today. My putter let me down big time. Only 2 birdies all round and only managed a +1 and that was because I eagled 18. Have t shoot lights out the rest of the way to not get any strikes, let alone move up. Uggh

I actually did very well on my R1, with a 69!
And that was even with somehow missing the 10 mile wide fairway on the first shot, (nerves I suppose!) and triple putting the evil #12 green. lol

Really cool course!
Only my 2nd event on TGCT and I shot 66-62 in my first two rounds here. Hope that’s good enough to clear my strikes from last week!!

I think that I have put myself in a bit of a predicament.... I'm playing in CC-D on exemption and shot: 63, 63, 63, 62 at Gotham Municipal (with about 6 bogies!) I'm thinking that I could go close to an exemption again this time for CC-C. My predicament is that I also managed to qualify for the PGA Champs next week. If I play in the PGA I will lose my exemption to CC-C. What should I do?? Pull out of the Champs and have a crack at CC-C or play the PGA and keep my CC-D card? Help me decide, I don't know what to do!!!!!!!!!!

You can earn an exemption quicker than quality for an major.

Means you're probably still getting better, which means that you ought to be able to get an exemption fairly easily in the future if it's the case that you're still improving. I started playing here not long after getting TGC1, started in CC-D, got an exemption to CC-C in my second tournament, and then starting in my fourth tournament got four consecutive exemptions from C to B, A, Web, then Euro PGA. If you're good enough to shoot that on my course and you're good enough to qualify for the PGA Championship, you're not going to have much trouble getting another exemption unless you break your hand or something.

Is Gotham your course? Then very well done my friend! It was a really good course to play. I learned in some practice rounds that it was all about the approach, nail that and get a low score. I shot -36 at Pebble last week to qualify for the PGA Champs and now -37 this week, yes I am pretty new, only had the game for 6 weeks, I feel like I'm just starting to get the hang of it, I just want to make the most of this run of good form.

Well, with TGC 2019 coming out relatively soon, everyone's going to have to suss out their form again anyway. I actually qualified for the US Open last year when I'd been playing about 2 months, after missing the cut on exemption in PGA the previous week (I misspoke when I said Euro before, they used to be co-equal top level tours). Definitely a fun experience, and I think I was the only non-PGA/Euro player at the time to make the cut, so that's something to shoot for.
Thanks for the comments on the course.
