So sorry to hear this, my worst nightmare. I will have your son in my thoughts tonight, and hug my son extra tight in the morning. Do that. You realize you didn't do that often enough when it's almost too late. Thanks for all your kind words & support. I'll forward it to my son. Chemotherapy already started a few hours ago. # keeponfighting

Thomas, I don’t know you personally, only via this forum. However, as a parent and grandparent, I can certainly empathize with your family’s angst and concern. It is fortunate that you caught this early. I’m sure that the chemo will do it’s thing and your son will bounce back healthier and stronger. You and your family will be in my thoughts and prayers as you go through this difficult time. God bless you, your family and, most of all, your little boy.

So sorry to hear that, that is awful news.
Stay strong for your son while he wins this battle, and hopefully your family will soon be back to normal life stronger than ever.
You and your little guy will be in my thoughts!

...of an never expected stroke of fate within my family. As our 4-year-old son didn't feel well over the whole weekend, we took him to the hospital. Just to make sure it wasn't something really serious. Oh well, we were disabused... the final diagnosis was absolutely shocking: He has a malignancy at his suprarenal gland that is already touching his lungs. I can honestly tell you, this hits you like 2 freight trains at once, especially as there were absolutely no symptoms for this to ever happen. The one & only good news is that it finally sorted out that he has a form of tumor that has pretty good chances to be fully cured (it could have been even worse, although this sounds pretty ridiculous with a diagnosis like that). He is in good hands in the hospital were we are right now, and he is a strong little boy that will hopefully fight like a super-hero in the upcoming weeks and months, and my family and I we will support him as good as we can, so that we can go back to the life we had before this shocking event. But we will be in hospital for at least the next 8 weeks (it is planned to start chemotherapy already tomorrow, and in 6 weeks there is going to be a surgery if the tumor has gone back enough), so I will not find nearly as much time for anything else (including TGC) like I was used to. So as a long-time & active member of this community, I just wanted you let you know if I will not show up constantly, will miss events on the tour without telling, or whatever. I'm definitely going to play from time to time, just to find some distraction from all the rest... but just not often I guess. If you use to pray from time to time, do me a favor and include my little son if you want. I'm sure it would help, as we can require all the support we can get right now. Thomas I’m terribly sorry to hear about this and my thoughts are with you and your family. I’m currently in treatment for cancer myself and while it’s a difficult trudge there’s such talent working on curing the disease, and I have no doubt your boy will get through this and live a full, wonderful life. Hang in there pal.

I can't even imagine the terror of getting such a diagnose. I would be absolutely devastated if it was my girl. I hope everything will turn out fine for your son.
I'm not a religious man, but I'll put in a bit extra to my regular donation on child cancer research this month in your sons honor.

Hey Thomas, I know everything will go well. Your son is going to be running all over your place real soon.
But in the meantime, I'll keep him on my thoughts, and will also ask my religious friends to pray for all of you

Gutting to hear that Thomas, no-one deserves that kind of hurdle in life especially so early on.
While we will be missing you and thinking of you and the family over the coming weeks, certainly will be hoping for the very best of outcomes.
Tell the young fella there is people all round the world wishing him the very best and looking forward to hearing the good news when he overcomes this.

Prayers and love to your child. I have a granddaughter the same age. I am sure this is a very helpless feeling but hopefully your child is in good hands and will come out of this as good as new.
