Some players have ported over courses but some aren't checking greens prior assuming they ok but not, seeing a lot of yellow around pins
Yellow around pins will be fine in this game Carol (that's just a slopey green in 19) - the issue will come when it is orange or red only....

So what are the new restrictions here? I am working them out but so far the society is open to anyone. This is what I have come up with so far Gameplay Difficult set to Custom
SWING difficulty Your choice (OPEN) This is not locked in stone and reserve the right to lock difficulty in which in effect changes gameplay to what ever difficulty I choose
Swing timing is ON
Distance control Meter set to Percentage only
This mean you will not have the power bar for putting yet will display a percentage suggestion for the putt. Power bar for all exhibition events will be Set Open once season starts will be set to percentage only. Set Open allows you to decide off or on Distant Control Assist is OFF Putt Preview OffPro Vision Wind, Lie Penalty, Lie angle and Elevation is set to Off
Pro Vision True Shot is OnPro Vision Trajectory Aim OnlyScout Cam , lie Grid and Green grid OnPin Open your choice for in or out when puttingAim Marker OnWind Display at Wind Speed Distance Display at Carry
i reserve the right to change these settings as I see fit and welcome input from all members and will take in all considerations that I feel will make the society an enjoyable experience. Inflames

I played a bit yesterday. From my perspective and personal opinion as I realize I'm just a nobody here and not trying to make suggestions. I'm not a fan of the pro vision stuff. Namely the trajectory arc on every shot I find distracting. Not being able to see my lie % while in the rough or bunker was difficult..since I'm always in heavy rough or a bunker lol.
Side note and totally unrelated question but have been wanting ask but am afraid to start a new thread.
Is there a way to see a societies settings before you join? I joined one society a couple days ago teed off 1'st hole only to find everything was locked at proam and a lot of easy options. Never even finished the hole, just quit and left the society.

No Tim I don't believe so. I have set the trajectory to AIM only (or will be in next event ) I hope that helps somewhat and will revisit taking off in the near future. I am in the process of trying to find settings that will please all

The swing difficulty is going to be the deal breaker, I'm afraid. It really isn't even remotely fair to play on Masters difficulty against someone on Amateur difficulty. It's like night and day.

The swing difficulty is going to be the deal breaker, I'm afraid. It really isn't even remotely fair to play on Masters difficulty against someone on Amateur difficulty. It's like night and day. I 100% get what you're saying, but at the same time I think it's important to retain the identity of what this society has always been (from my understanding), which is more of a social group to have fun and not entirely just a straight up competition. I know what would be best for me and what difficulty/other settings I would prefer, but that doesn't mean it's what most will like. It's a really tough call to make, I definitely see both sides of it.
FWIW, I wish HB had given options for "maximum assist levels" on these settings. For example, for provision trajectory, you have the choice of: Off, On, Aim Only, or Open (I'm assuming, haven't actually done this myself). So obviously off is the most restrictive, on provides maximum aid (makes it easier), and aim only is in the middle. If the event is set to "open," then users can individually choose any of the 3 options for that setting. However, if we want to limit the maximum assist level to "aim only," it has to be set to "aim only," therefor not allowing those of us who don't want to see that to individually turn it "off." If we could set "aim only" as the maximum aid level, thereby not allowing anyone to use it "on" but also letting some to turn it "off" should they so choose, it would be ideal. Unfortunately, that is not possible to the best of my knowledge. My hope is that folks become accustomed to the new game and don't feel like those provision settings are needed (because they really aren't if you've played previous versions of the game I don't think) and we can turn those off. As I mentioned to Carol yesterday, having that stuff on makes rounds feel really boring to me, it basically has the computer just tell me exactly what the ball is going to do in some situations, plus the little blue line drives me crazy lol. The power meter, percentage or otherwise, actually makes me play a good bit worse and kind of ruins the experience of playing at all for me personally, because I'm constantly distracted by the racing white line - I genuinely don't understand how it's so helpful to some, but understand that everyone plays differently.
Bottom line, Carol has an incredibly tough job to do in walking the line between being welcoming of all players while also trying to retain some sense of competition. That said, she's always done an utterly fantastic job with running IB over the years, and I have no doubt she'll make the right call - it might not be exactly what I want, and definitely won't be what everyone wants because that's impossible, but in the end it'll be what's best for the group at large, I believe.

I won't argue with you there ... inflames47 has always done a great job with IB. No doubt about that ... but, IB's message has always been "we're a competitive society" (or something to that effect). All I'm saying, is that it can't be competitive if no one is on the same playing field. Most of the settings don't really matter one way or the other in terms of how well you score (with the obvious exception of putt previews). You can line that trajectory arc up all you want ... doesn't mean anything if you can't hit Perfect tempo at 100% power. I've been shooting -10 to -15 per round on the Pro-Am swing difficulty (which feels the closest to TGC2019) ... can only manage around -8 or so on the Pro difficulty (eg. the official 2k21 society) ... and haven't broken par yet with Masters (though I've only played it a few rounds, so I just need more time to get used to it). So, it makes a huge difference in the scores. I'm not pushing for one setting over another ... I just really want it to be fair, that's all.

At the moment I'm not playing anything but the suggested tgc tours settings, need to try and nail that down.
The games a bit of a shock to the system, but so was 2019 when I got it (even asked steam for a refund)....ended up playing it for over 2000 hours ๐
Anyway as soon as i've cracked those settings, or given up trying I'll be back.
I think you've got a hard job trying to please everyone inflames, but I know you'll do your best.
keep up the good work,I'm off to shoot +20 ๐ซ

To everyone's replies here, please note that I did say these settings are subject to adjustments. With that said the being intent is to eventually set this club to 1 difficulty if members feel that is where they will find the best enjoyment. The game is brand new, there are many things that needed to be sorted out and all this feedback is helping me in a great way to get started. From the feedback I have received from players having a hard time with swing tempo in the higher club difficulty and right down to putting. I thought best to start this out slow and work our way up by adjusting as we go along.
Society's main focus is that continue to be competitive YES amongst friends and members in a jolly good game sense of the word. The tours are designed for those who want more edge to their game. Where nothing else matters than who is on top of the leaderboard or made the most earnings in a season. That is not how I want my society to be. I understand we all want to be on top of that leaderboard, we all want that shining moment, but in the process we want to have fun and enjoy it along the way.
Those who play alone should make use of the discord channel to meet and game with other members it makes the game more exciting and competitive in group play. We get to know and understand their skills, envy and try to improve ourselves with help from the community members within society to help those who are looking for advice to improve, nothing works better than a one on one to teach someone how to plan and understand things. Personally I am a hands on person. I need to see what you explain (rather than read in a forum ) how to shape a shot, why I might do this in what situations etc. These things can be achieved by taking part in the *social aspect* of the game. In the last few days we have had more activity in Discord than we have had in 2109. I urge everyone to make use of it. It takes the game to a whole new level playing and getting to that last hole being 1 up and losing in the end and vs vs.
I spent a lot of time with several members of society and after all the talks and discussions I made the changes to settings as you all have read above. Now I shall wait to see how things progress in the coming days and re evaluate our societies position and look for more feedback from all of you. You have all been a great source of information for me. I have and always will be dedicated to improvements to make everyone's experience a good one. I cannot improve if I do not receive comments here in the forum to move forward. So thank you all for taking the time to give me direction. I will continue to monitor scores with these new settings and follow players as much as I can to check on their club difficulty settings to see what the majority of the players prefer to play. I am trying my hardest to balance this all out.
Many Thanks Inflames

I here there is a bug that overrides society settings could someone put the forum link about that discussion so I can read up on it. We will be going live on Sunday for events and membership fee's to the society and events will be supplied. Those amounts have yet to be decided. Enjoyable scramble round with B.Smooth13 , deathstar Doe Coba and myself on my settings. So I feel they might work for the society until we all start to improve and bugs are fixed with a patch from 2k21. I will review results after each event and see how that leaderboard is getting along. and open to suggestion. Course suggestions are always welcome and yes yes Justin The Buck Club will be in the lineup soon

Please don't ever subject us to rainy conditions again Carol - it had minimal effect on frame rate in 19, but destroys it in 21. Or if you insist on it - please post that you are going to use it in the message box - so I can ignore the event. Utterly pointless trying to play in those conditions
