is anyone else encountering swing speed issues, especially with the shorter clubs?? somehow I can not swing anything but very fast on downswing with short clubs, mainly wedge and sand wedge. I have tried changing mouse sensitivity in game and in windows but no help there. the backswing works fine but as soon as I start down I get a very fast result and it is impossible to get out of a trap. I slowed the mouse sensitivity down so far that I could not move the mouse fast enough with long clubs to work correctly. if there is a fix for this, I sure would like to know. I have had tgc 2 since it came out and in the last month or so the problem started. not a framerate issue as it mostly over 60fps. can't imagine a win10 update would change anything that much. tried new vid drivers but with the same result..HELP!!! game is unplayable as it is right now. can not get out of a trap without exceeding stroke limit. i'm on pc obviously it's not the top of the line but it is an i5 intel @3.5mz |

Whenever I get VF downswings, its actually because my backswing is too slow relative to the downswing - and it is much less penal having a fast backwswing - so I'd suggest speed up the backswing and feel like you are going down really smoothly instead. (ie feel like you are doing Fast-Perfect)
PS I also use a mouse

I get all sorts of issues with every club to be honest. I have had different combinations of tempo and it boggles my mind how it happens. I sit the same way, hold the controller in the same way and swing the stick the same way.
I think it is all way too much to be thinking about in a video game. You shouldn't have to concentrate more than you do in real life golf. My blood pressure goes through the roof.
I have a very capable PC like the OP but it amazes me with how bad the consistency is. (direction of shots just exaggerates the off tempo ones)

I have tried every combo of fast backswing etc. but no matter what the downswing is almost always very fast. I am talking with the slightest of movement on the downswing. even a pause at the top does not work or half swings are just as bad. fps is 90 so I don't think it's a lag problem. still working on tho.

Had 2 rounds this morning, and received no fewer than 15 fast or slow downswings, and everyone of these shots ended up in a bunker. This is happening so frequently now, that I don't feel as though I'm in control anymore. I mean, how can all 15 shots manage to find their way into a bunker........ I can only hope that HBS get this sorted out by the time the next version comes, I don't see the point in playing if the game is going to control everything you do.

This is happening so frequently now, that I don't feel as though I'm in control anymore. I mean, how can all 15 shots manage to find their way into a bunker........ I can only hope that HBS get this sorted out by the time the next version comes, I don't see the point in playing if the game is going to control everything you do. I had exactly the same issue last week. After Round 1 I dropped out - first tournament I’ve abandoned in two years of tour play. The tempo issues were so bad that I couldn’t even be sure/confident of which half of the fairway I’d land in....or even if I could make the fairway at all. Then, this week I had absolutely no issues. There’s definitely something occurring at the HBS server end that’s impacting playability, and more importantly, enjoyment. Hang in there.... |

Yeah, I really can’t believe as a “seasoned” player in CCA that I lost my swing so badly all of a sudden that ball flight would be essentially a lotto, and then the following week I look to be getting an exemption. I’ve never before said “It’s not me.” Have taken my well-earned lumps when they came along, but last week was ridiculous - and we weren’t alone. Several others in my flight reported the same.
I’m glad things were back to normal this week, because another brutal experience would have probably seen me take a hiatus from TGC. As it is, I’ll be sitting on the fence when 2019 comes out...... TGC2 gameplay upon release was horrendous for first two weeks. Also, if HBS doesn’t address shot preview bs (by allowing Tournament Directors to turn it off) then I can’t see myself buying 2019.
Still time before making any decisions...

Not that it makes it any better, just wanting to know if its an issue for others as well.

TBH, I don’t recall if the course last week was so encumbered.... only played one round.
I’ve read something about crowds/grandstands adversely affecting play.... possibly the source of the issues, idk for sure....

I had some issues for about 4 weeks with tempo: Thought I lost my mind. It was random and some days it was fine and other it was unplayable. Finally checked every device on my network and made sure to set update times around my play times. Granted I don’t have the best imternet service but it helped. I found a Windows 10 laptop that was in a continuous update for days. Not sure why (errors?))but I resolved it. Satellite was also performing updates.
It been good now for about 3 weeks so I believe that was my issue.
