Forgive me if this is already in the forum (please link me to it, if so) but how does the distance marker affect putting speed or does it?

This post on the HB forums has a lot of good information in it Quick answer to your question is that the marker has no affect on putting distance unless you set the power close to the marker - then it will help adjust your power closer to your desired distance (which is where the marker is) The main factor in putting distance is how far back you pull the backswing before following through and hitting the ball. You can move the marker out 180 feet and still hit any range of putting distance. The marker just aids you when your set power is in proximity to the marker.

I'm not a real-life golfer (probably because I'm so bad that the stress outweighs any relaxation benefits) but like the video-game world of golf. I've followed this game for a while...finding your site pushed me over the edge on the purchase. Anyway, I read through the link that you posted and I'm still a little confused. Are you saying that a full (100%) backswing will hit the ball the same distance, give or take, regardless of where the marker is placed? I originally thought that this was true but then read a few posts around the interwebs that seemed to say the opposite. I'm bad enough at the putting that I don't need any more confusion...
