Wow love everything about it except allowing player clubs on PGA and Euro tours, smh!!! The Web is semi pro your k st them tear it up with player clubs. It's basically if you aren't in top 70 you are screwed. I wanna play and have fun in new season, but using player clubs on top tours not cool. It's tooo easy. Guys allready go incredibly low with your clubs. Sux, it's like top 70 is your main priority now. Hopefully this changes or else another season I'll barely play and miss it soooo much!!! Not good at all imo. Most ppl that play on top flights don't have the time to work there way to top 70 WGR and want an even playing field on top tours. I know some of you will say well they can't hit ball as far. Ohhh but they can hit every approach sh%$ perfectly str8. You have Web and all Challenge circuits for player clubs. PLEASE CHANGE THIS UP!!!  |

Wow are people actually complaining about PGA and European tour players being aloud to use any club set they want now? Really?!! I personally think it's a great decision. I can use the tour clubs, but my consistency with them is just not good enough. When using tour clubs about 30% (40% at best) of my rounds will be decent. But with player clubs, it's more 75-80%. I do still get the odd few bad rounds with them. I worked hard to get myself up to the European tour during tgc1....and even after all the hard work, when tgc2 came out and tgct started back up I didn't want to stay where I had worked hard to get to because of the mandatory tour club use. But now that I can use player clubs I feel I can stand a better chance of competing. Someone earlier in the thread said that people using player clubs will be "left in the dust"....this is not true at all. The only ones on the PGA and European tour who would now (possibly) be "left in the dust" are those who decide to use the standard clubs for obvious reasons. Some people really do just have to complain about everything these days!!! smh. That's your opinion and I respect it, but top 3 tours should have to play your it's why they added it. Without it it's just TGC1 with better graphics. It's crap you work to get on top tours and guys can just bs around and hit everything perfectly str8 with player clubs. Sorry that's far from real or fair. I've played on tour since the very 1st event ever, and this is not cool. The yardage diff. is not big enough to matter when you can hit your approach str8 everytime from 200yd out!!!! Really sux guys. You have Web and all other tours to play that easy swing if you want. I worked hard to get to Euro and I haven't been playing much and still shoot -4 to -8 with your clubs after not playing for weeks. TOO EASY WITH PLAYER CLUBS. K I'm done. Y'all have fun keeping it easy. No1 wants a challenge anymore it's that everyone gets a trophy generation, lol. Love all TGC has done and all the work put in. This just sux |

The game can be just as difficult with player clubs as it can be with tour clubs. That's the wonderful thing about golf, nothing is guaranteed. I don't care what clubs a player uses. If I were to be on excellent form with the tour clubs (which I was for a while) and somebody beat me using standard, I'd actually say well done. You've beaten me with the lowest club set, giving yourself a severe disadvantage in regards to distance especially. We could both play on a course, you on tour and me on player....tee shot over water splitting the fairway, tour clubs can carry but player won't. Depending on the size of the body of water I could possibly have to club down 2 or 3 clubs. This straight away gives me the disadvantage as you have a shorter approach than me. You have a much better chance at sticking the green than I do as I couldn't carry the water off the tee. That's one example of how player clubs don't guarantee an easier time out on the course. As I said, I can use the tour clubs. But lately with not being able to play as often as I'd like, my consistency has greatly dropped with them. Why should I HAVE to use the tour clubs and be that miserable playing my rounds that I don't want to play anymore? I worked hard to get to the European tour as I said, so why should I, which is basically what you're saying, go back to the Web tour if I want to use player clubs? I don't get to play as often as I'd like due to real life commitments, and I'm therefore not as consistent with the tour clubs now and would prefer to use the player instead....so I'm no longer welcome in the European tour? If I want to play on tgct using player clubs I've to go back to the Web where I started back in season 1? Sorry, but I cannot agree with the statement in bold whatsoever. I'll leave it at that, as it's been done to death. Fair play to the rest of your reasoning. So untrue. I’m only in Cc-a at present but had hopes of working my way up and that’s what I based my game around and why I persevered with Tours. I can score lower with players more regularly without any doubt. It’s also a disengage the brain approach for me. Last word from me. Pro tours should stay unchanged regards allowed clubs, IMO. A TGC1 snooze fest isn’t what this should be on the pro tours. The extra challenge is welcome. But as many have said, let’s see how it shakes out. |

Knowing them maybe they did, but don't think so. So many guys like me didn't play last this season waiting for the new 1. So they didn't get data from alot of guys playing tour clubs cause alot where waiting/practicing for new year. I wasn't able to finish yr. due to Hurricane Harvey. I just can see on a Thur. or Fri. round with no wind the player clubs tearing it up. My experience with the game, if you play with plyr on a low windy day you are gunna stick shots and see guys -10 to -14 and tour plyrs shooting -8to-10 maybe. Hope I'm wrong but it's just too easy with plyr clubs on top tours |

How many tournies in season 4 do you think are going to be won with Player clubs in PGA and Euro?

Wow all the tour club players better watch out this week!!! I just played the 1st 2 rounds on the European tour using player clubs....tour clubs just weren't working out for me in the practice rounds. And guess what?!!! I'm dominating the leaderboard!!! Hahaha Hopefully the sarcasm there can be detected easily enough.  |

Doyle...thank you. I will be playing this game again after the thoughtful changes. This was obviously about what's best for the group and the elites seem pissed. You are all still the cream of the crop. IMO changes allow the rest of us peons to have fun as well.

Let me ask you all a question. And I'm being dead serious here. How many tournies in season 4 do you think are going to be won with Player clubs in PGA and Euro? I know the answer but I want to know what you guys think. 99.5% Wags.. Perfectly straight every time? Nope...cannot happen. Well it can but you will get a email saying your scores were removed. I can speak from experience. Ridiculously low scores? Nope....will still -40 to -56 up and down the entire tour landscape which is already dumb if compared to real golf but this isnt real golf. I will make a educated prediction that a really good Player can and will beat an average to good Tour from time to time especially using good course management. There is just too much diversity from player to player on thinking, decision making, skill level, risk taking, composure, lag, kids screaming upstairs, alcohol consumption, ball lies, ect....before introducing clubs Also...scores will be relatively the same as we have seen at the top but there could be many more scores that are 12 to 20 shots behind the leader. So in essense, the middle group of average scoring players will get fatter because of club diversity which could raise the cut line by a stroke or two. In the end...it means next to nothing big picture which is why i dont get all riled up about the decision. That is...until the admins start paying me real money to play this game or i can use my tour winnings on some home improvement projects i have planned. |

If I get time I’ll try to play the PGA event with player clubs. I trust I’d be somewhere within 5 or 10 of the leader with Tour clubs, I’ll see how I go with the easier clubset.
