Interestingly there’s 1 in the world tour with a pretty low drive distance :/ Difficult thing to be bang certain on without an API flag in all honesty. I assume admin requested this from HB but got knocked back. This week's WT will not be a great course to use drive distance as a marker. So many holes where you aren't hitting Driver off the tee, or even 3W, due to shortened fairways or severely sloped landing areas. Just tactical play to lay up on the vast majority of those situations on Merion.

I really hope every week doesn't turn into a witch hunt to see who used Players clubs. It'd be a real shame to try to call people out who are abiding by rules and just want to play.
You can like/not like the decision to allow any clubs but trying to find out who is/isn't using them and trying to shame them would be terrible (I am not saying this is being done, yet).
I do not like the rule either as I view the club sets as 100% difficulty levels, however, the rule has been made and it is what it is.

Oh yea, FYI, someone who's using Tour clubs could also swap the driver out for a 2W, which would mess up the "just look at their driving distances" thing. So yea, be careful with that one...

Yes, that’s what I was thinking also and what makes it difficult to Police effectively. As time moves on, interest in this will die down obviously. While there’s nothing like a witch hunt going on, and nobody is being called out in any way shape or form, with the announcement and the waves it’s caused it cannot be expected that player vs tour comparisons won’t be prevalent right now.

It's early but so far the player clubs are all the front page Euro PS4 scores. I've yet to check the PGA. I think I saw 1 guy who shows tour clubs on front page society leaderboard. Must be cool playing TGC1 with better graphics js. No complaining just my opinion. ALOT of ppl yet to play so hopeful still !! Know what? I'd be more than content to still be playing TGC 1. I'd still be in Web. In fact, before they shipped me off to the PGA for 7 weeks of hell where I didn't make one cut until a minor, I was 22nd on the Web money list. With TGC 2, I dropped out of Web so didn't even get to finish the season among the leaders there. So yeah, I'd just assume still be playing TGC 1 right now as a whole season of mine got shot to hell in just a few lousy weeks. Im just hoping it all works out ok and as I mentioned above they have more data then I do so we will see. As far as talent/skill Im no great plyr. I stayed in top 150WGR on Euro tour when plsyed and practiced alot. So shall see.

TGCTours has been ruined for me with the decision about clubs. I get not wanting to do the extra work but it ruins the spirit of competition.
Only way I could see it be fixed is if HB allows tournaments to have mandated clubs.
What a shame.

Are you planning on playing this season despite the decision or are you considering leaving the tour?

I don't think I'll play with the same regularity. I used to really look forward to the rounds but now it's just kinda meh.
I will probably focus more of my energy on TST.

Doyle...thank you. I will be playing this game again after the thoughtful changes. This was obviously about what's best for the group and the elites seem pissed. You are all still the cream of the crop. IMO changes allow the rest of us peons to have fun as well. See, this type of post just isn't helpful. It's got absolutely nothing to do with being elitist and everything to do with the perception that this may not be a level playing field. It's not supposed to be a handicap system. But as I've already said, I have a suspicion this may end up being a non issue anyway. @bigm , I hope you do what you've said and play the PGA with Players clubs. It will be very interesting to see how one of the better players gets on against the field. We'll have some actual facts to work with rather than all this supposition! LOL, perfect example of the elitists showing up and trying to tell me what YOU think the game should or shouldn't be. Same dam thing over and over for years now. I, I, I, ME, ME, ME

You'd better give him a Players chainsaw so he can swing it more accurately.

Has nothing to do with elitists at all. I am not an elite player - not nearly. But i want a level playing field as well. And we don't have that with more than one clubset in a tournament field. Tour clubs are harder to handle - a lot of "player club fans" (you as well!?) admit that. If that is right, the only conclusion is, that playing with tour clubs is more difficult and playing with player clubs is easier. And it is not eliticism if guys don't want to compete with other players in one field, that are playing at a lower difficulty. Is that so hard to understand? Having fun and being competitive aren't the same things in my book. If you want to have fun with player clubs .... have fun playing them. But why has that to be on a top tour here? The decision is made .... and it is wrong in my book. Every competition should have a level playing field - otherwise it isn't fair to begin with. Two different clubsets -> no level playing field. I said it already: Monitoring wouldn't have been a big problem. Set up draconic punishment for not obeying the rules and things would have taken care of themselves.

I'm in CC-B...... the main reason I wanted to play here is majors.... my question is let's say I remain at cc-b.... will we have a tourny called the masters at Augusta in April? If not what do I have to do to qualify for a major.... all I wanna do is compete for a green jacket haha
