The Bob Barker Spray & Neuter Pro-Am @ The Dusty Lion Club (East) Up on exemption this week so trying to stick in A. I played the practice tour at -23 (I think) but am not a huge fan of this course. Shot a dreadful +1 in R1, then redeemed myself with a -11 in R2. Hopefully R3 and R4 will be good enough to stay here!

Finally was able to put a few rounds together. We'll see where I stand and how it all shakes out.
Might actually be able to avoid a strike this week.

I really enjoyed that course. I feel I hit the ball well, but left so many putts out there, as we all do. I ended up -30. Clear of a strike.... Maybe top 25. Good luck all!

Fun but challenging layout. I couldn't buy a putt in rd-1 and couldn't miss one if I tried in rd-4. Oh the joys of mediocrity. -29 for the tourney. Hopefully a top 25 finish.

I used to be a half decent player on the web.com tour, since moving to tgc 2 it's so frustrating! Have to play with the regular clubs just to keep it straight. Which means not reaching any par 5s in two. Some par 4s you can't reach the fairway if into wind. The games far to hard. Slowly getting strikes every week, nearly time to pack in. Does anyone feel the same way?

I've only used Tour clubs so I don't know the regular club frustrations. I do know the frustrations of wanting to pack it in but instead I harness that energy to focus on what I'm doing wrong and trying different things to improve. The adjustments this week have payed off so far but it may fall apart the next 2 rounds. But that's the challenge I wanted in a golf game so game on!

Thanks Ashton, I'll keep playing, only because its a great game. Just won't be able to come close to the good players.

A pair of 64s. though was 10 under after 14 when the dreaded p/slow p/fast hit me on round 1. Then just missed putts all over in round two. The frustrating thing is they happen out of know where, most of the time doesn't hurt to bad but of course they caused me to be in jail. Other then a few pins that I felt where cut too close to a drop off with the break moving towards that said drop off, the course played well.

The shot shaping and putting seem to be more responsive for me which is better for creative shots. I will say that bad shots are severely punished in Tgc2.

Thanks Ashton, I'll keep playing, only because its a great game. Just won't be able to come close to the good players. You just have the set the bar for yourself. For example: I don't have the time to put into the game and I don't have the out of the box talent that some people do so I've come to be at peace that PGA will never happen. Does that make me a failure? Nope. I only become a failure when I stop playing because I give up on trying. I made one cut in Web so I'd like to think I can get back there again. If a month from now I realize that may not be possible, I'll reassess my goals and set a more appropriate short term goal. Just have fun with the game and don't let it get you down.

I agree that tgc2 is easier for me with player clubs for a couple of reasons. More available realistic shot options, and b, I only had tgc1 for about 2 months before tgc2 came out so my memory of 1 is long gone. I think people who consistently flag hunt and try to bomb every drive would be pleasantly surprised if they played for wide parts of the fairway and between the middle of the green and the pin. But that's just my opinion and we all know what that means.

I did not enjoy Tour clubs instantly thats for sure.It took a solid 2 weeks of playing and range balls to find my groove. I think I find Tour clubs easier because of the distance and control with the driver. My wedges and irons feel and respond like they did with players clubs but if my rythum is on with the driver I can steer it around the course. But man oh man if I get quick with the big stick I'm in the deep stuff which did not happen with players clubs.
