According to the fact HB doesnt seem to listen any of the communities concerns either here or on their own forums.

The only response they have given is that cannot reproduce it spinning out of the rough. Which is total horse poop.

I just tried again while asking about tours, live match play. Shawn just said tours will not be in TGC2 and did not comment on the chipping or live match play then locked the thread after 11 pages lol.

Im finding chipping on this game from under 10 yards almost as easy as the famed 9 iron chip on TGC1. Anything 6 yards or less im holing or missing my an inch or so. Yeah theres some quirks with it, stopping far quicker out of the rough than fringe or fairway but once you get used to it, it can be deadly. Playing for chips on occasion is definitely still an option for me. Share your secret please.

Haha, i wont be doing that.
Just create a practice green in the designer and play around with it, youll work out what works eventually.

Is the only way to hit chips less than 10 yards to do partial swings? I've not mastered it yet by any means.

Could be a tinfoil theory but I've noticed that when I transition from backswing to downswing too fast like a jerky motion, it almost always checks. As in on those shots where I do that, I think "oh crap it's gonna stop" and most of the time it does. With a 5-10 yarder, when the transition feels smooth I'm very confident of it rolling out. Not sure I can describe it properly, but I can feel when I've dun goofed and the result tends to match the feel. Still think this is a flaw in the game obviously.

Pin smashing within 10 yds is way too easy and another thing which makes the chipping pretty bad in the game.
Sure, short chips should be holed occasionally but they should not be more frequent than putts from the same distance...
Needs a complete overhaul.

Nearest I can figure is de-loft the sh-it out of the lob wedge and learn the chipping distances from that shot.

Fully lofted lob wedge chip, learn how far back to pull in the practice green for how far it will go. I can hole many a chip and if not hole it leave it very close, from muscle memory i know how far to pull back for 3/4/5/6 yards etc, dont tend to use it for anything over 14...thats the only hint ill give you. Test it mate.

So it is to do with learning how far back to swing. I already fully loft but I struggle not to hit either full or duff it a few inches. I blame the PS4 frame rate of course, it can't be me!

Haha, i wont be doing that. Just create a practice green in the designer and play around with it, youll work out what works eventually. It would be more efficient to go into the Practice mode, move the ball to a spot to practice from and then turn on auto-mulligan. That way the ball is brought back on its own instead of having to use the rewind shot thing in practice mode every time.
