what exactly are the reasons for this? fairplay? imho this will lead to the opposite of fairplay. Ok Email sent, i want to have the option to continue playing with Players clubs, it is what i enjoy, and enjoyment is why i play this game, so if WEB is the only tour i can use players clubs then that is where i will play, if i play too well on WEB and am forced to move back to EURO then i guess i am done for....i think this is a really poor decision enforcing clubs on people especially when the advantages are supposably with the TOUR clubs anyway.... But if you play for fun/enjoyment why do you care where you play? Euro, PGA or WEB should be the same as long as you have fun. And if you find yourself on a brink of a mandatory promotion you could always tank one tournament - or if you do go up you can purposely take 2 strikes in a single week so that in 2/3 weeks you'll be down again. And mostly why if the majority of PGA/Euro player requested mandatory clubs for them they can't have it? As long as you deem acceptable having free choice (which is no good for them). Of course not everyone's happy...but this seems the best decision for the most. If you struggling with Tour club so much chances are you were near the cut line pretty constantly even in TGC 1; so between playing in Euro and not making cuts and playing in WEB and competing more...I'm thinking the latter is always better - no matter if you play "for fun" or else

Question - Because we have the 5 limit of societies, can we join and post score to our tour and the quit to join another society? Example - join TGC Euro Society to play tour event and then leave society and join TGC Special Events society with the same slot? David, I'll have to do the same thing: leave True Sim to play the special event and then re-join.

Well, I was against requiring people to use clubs, but I'm playing well with tour clubs anyway. Only issue is I'm still in Web. Gonna try playing Tour clubs in the first tourney, but if it seems like people with Player or Standard clubs are doing better and getting the promotions, might just suck it up and switch until I can get into PGA.

It's gonna be all about who's best with the putter again. We finally get a good variation in the long game with different skill sets and distances and then it gets outlawed. Oh well. I'll be cheering on Poulter in web.com. Come on Ian, do it for the short hitters you sexy beast. No, it's going to be about who has gotten a handle on tour clubs. Some never will. For those who are able to keep it in the fairway most times, it will be about putting. But the best putter in the world can't even hope to compete if she misses the fairway most every shot. If you're using player clubs and I'm using tour clubs, you will beat me every time even if I am an excellent putter. Reason? You can at least score par most holes while I can't; because at best I hit the green with my 4th shot (or 5th on a par 5). And then my 2nd shot will either miss the green or put me fairly far from the hole. Tour clubs mandatory, its like a wet dream No, it's like a nightmare. It's really a good thing I won't ever be promoted to the PGA/Euro Tour. Because I would be DQ'd for using player clubs. I'm not going to change my clubset. This first round of the Exhibition event showed me I have no chance whatsoever with tour clubs. I couldn't even make par. +1 73 for the round. I'll be using player clubs for the remaining rounds. Hopefully I can make a decent showing; maybe get into the top 20.

I'd suggest everybody just plays the game and see how it pans out. This is the first set of rules, they may be changed as time goes on. It'll be very interesting to see what happens in Web and the CC Pro tours, if it turns out it's being dominated by people using Players Clubs then it's clear they are easier and therefore it's absolutely the right decision to make Euro/PGA Tour club only. You may then find other tours also have a mandatory club set to ensure a level playing field. On the other hand, if Tour Clubs dominate Web you may find they relax the rule on a mandatory club set because it's clear other clubs have a disadvantage. None of us really know! Just play!
Long term the most important thing is to make it fair. In the short term this is a learning curve for all of us, including the Admins.

I've come to the conclusion it doesn't matter; for me. I suck using any club set. Just give it time, keep using the driving range to iron out your swing. You can only get better from here. Once you are comfortable with the tempo of the clubs you can focus on the important things: putting and getting out of trouble (recovery shots). It's all about practice and being calm. Reading slopes and winds will come naturally the more you play. You'll be up with the top pros in no time. I guarantee it. You already know this Dan, but same goes for you. Hang in there bud.
