Any thoughts in increasing the cut line do to the extra amount of participants? Like setting it to 85 plus ties to cut the field in half, but maybe will affect the overall season stats.

Now we have 2 rounds completed it is something that absolutely can not be implemented! It's like deciding to bring goal line technology in in football at half time during a game because a decision in the first half would have been improved by having it. It was known it would be top 70 before the tournament and for me I strongly believe thats how it should stay

Consider yourself lucky. Normally the cut line on the European Tour is @ 65 and ties ;-)

Yeah its normally 65 and ties. There are still 20 odd players to post\submit a score. Some of these people may not even submit a score. I was thinking -15 would be top 70 and ties, but depending on the scores to be submitted, it could go -16 or -17!

I agree you can't change rules in the middle of a tournament as that would set an awful precedent.
I also agree it would have been nice for more considering the field size but that can't supercede point #1. Maybe they can consider top 70 and ties + within 10 strokes of the leader for future tournaments though, that seems reasonable and follows PGA Tour I believe.

We are considering increasing the cut for one tour, but it isn't this one

I went -4, -10 and got what I deserved - a missed cut.

I agree with the points made its a little late to make changes. I'm sitting on the bubble at -16 which I wasn't expecting, then realized there is a lot of players that probably would've made the cut in a normal sized field.

Don't mess with the cut lines - I really like the fact that I'm never going to be sure if I'll make the cut or not - there are some good players who have already been cut after 2 poor(ish) early rounds. Due to the glitch yesterday, I know that at least one of these people had an excellent 3rd round that would've got them way up the leaderboard. But they're cut. That's the way it should be, and I love it!
And 70+ ties is plenty, no matter if the field has been extended a bit. It's not like there are going to be 250+ in the field.

If it's called the European tour, why not use the exact cut rules from the real one? If PGA is doing 70 and ties or within ten of lead, do the same in tgct... Or is it more complicated?

In this specific instance the 'within 10 strokes' rule wouldn't alter the cut as it stands currently. If those incompletes all go real low then it might alter it by 1 or so

Guys I will talk to the team today about using the 65+ for the European tour since that is what is done in real life. We are also thinking of moving the web.com tour cut line to 100 since there are so many playing over there. But nothing will be done this week. If we move to this, it will be for week 2 and on. This week all the tours except for Champions will be 70+ties.

I like the idea of increasing the Champions Tour to 100 due to the size of the field. What I am concerned about is decreasing the Euro Tour AFTER Cards have been issued out. There will be fringe players in that Tour that could use those extra 5 slots as a means to playing Rounds 3 & 4 more often. Taking those away just makes it more difficult for those players. I think it would be better to maintain this 70+ Ties for both Top Tiers, rather than discourage those who aren't the Elite of the Tour. Just my thoughts as a fellow Tour Commissioner thinking of the masses.

The Euro tour will stay at 70 + ties.

Feel sorry for all those who will also miss out on the race to Dubai due to PGA players getting spots on our tour as well. Chances are the top 5 may only be 1-2 euro players. If I am wrong on this sorry, but I thought I saw PGA players talking about entering since they will easily qualify for it. Hoping I am not one of those to not make it, but I missed the cut this first event with a horrible(apparently) total of -13 for the first 2 rounds.
