Can't speak for other platforms as I'm exclusively PS4, but as a longtime consumer of golf video games, TGC2 with Tour mode is perfect as possible wirh the exception of two (hopefully patchable) gameplay areas. First, any off-tempo swings (F/P, F/S, S/P) should result in shots with less left-right variance and more short/long variance. It's not uncommon to swing "too fast" in real life and miss the green long. And we've all duffed 5-irons 20-30 yards short. The 30 yard left/right misses with the slightest swing tempo miscues really hinder the overall gameplay and fun factor. Second, lies in the sand and rough simply can't be as penal. The game would play so much better if the possible percentages from rough/sand were 90-110% or even 95-105%, of course with the occasional buried/plugged lie. Dial a shot would be unlikely but birdies still possible. The current game with Tour mode is pretty damn fun. I hope to see more 'fairway heavy' but still challenging designs (like turu wero) so players still feel encouraged to use Tour mode. Regarding any platform to platform variance, it must be nearly impossible technology wise to develop such a sensitive joystick mechanic across three platforms. We could see platform based societies become more popular than a global Tour if this is true. I'm on pc. I'm not sure if the patch has helped as I didn't play the game long enough before the patch to be able to compare. All I do know is that slow/perfect results in straight but loses distance. Indeed, get one aspect perfect and there is a good chance of hitting straight. ( obviously, the stick must go through straight! ) I'm using slow/perfect when a perfect/perfect drive is going to be going into a hazard. It keeps the drive short of it. Hopefully all of this will transfer to the consoles. It is still very easy to duff it all up completely, by the way

I agree with most of the above. The shot and Club type should be down to the player.
After playing multiple rounds with player clubs and then switching to tour clubs. It seems as though it is so much easier to drive with the player Clubs but Approaches are somewhat long and prevent myself from making the Green or even putting Backspin on the ball. But I can hit straight and Lay up a bit due to the easier swing, on the other hand. Tour Clubs allow me to drive farther but are much more difficult to hit straight and true. Approaches are shorter can have better spin, but if I barely miss the accuracy zone on my swing. I end up playing my shot from the bunker or the rough. I think the risk reward factor would add that extra competitive feel to the game and how players approach it.

After much thought I believe users should be able to use the club set they're comfortable with.
TGC2 is a beautiful representation of simulation golf. IRL the difference between long hitters (tour clubs) and players that are shorter (player clubs) aren't the type of blades or woods they're using but their size, muscle difference, flexibility, etc etc that all results in swing speed and distance.
In TGC2 it's the type of clubs chosen and accuracy with those clubs but I like the fact that it creates that difference.
I agree there are a couple patches needed to negate wind waiting and reduced penalty for swings that are a little off inside the cone or off somewhat on tempo.

No!
Personal attacks aren't allowed and I heard it from a reliable source that Doyley is a douchenozzle.
