I'm starting a new Rustic themed course. This will likely won't be finished until TGC2 is released. I basically took the plot of land, flattened it, and turned the tree slider all the way up. I'm routing holes through the trees to what fits my eye. Here are the bare bones of #1:

Loving that first hole would be a great opener with the pin tucked left and a risk reward shot over the water for a better approach angle

I'll definitely be following this project! I've been tinkering with the idea of doing a rustic theme for my next project as well. This opening hole looks fantastic... very appealing design.

As someone who lives in Red Deer, Alberta...I pretty much HAVE to root for this course. Looking good so far!

The green is two-tiered sloping from right to left (think #13 at Sawgrass). The fairway across the water is reachable with a neutral or favorable wind. This will have many options if it were to be multi-pinned as well. I've laid out a finishing hole (either 9 or 18--I haven't decided yet) which is a long par 4. I'll try to have a screenshot later today or tomorrow. I'm hoping to create a hole a day at worst.

Hole #18 (for now) is one is one of the favorite holes I've ever done, as it presents decisions on every shot depending on conditions and tee/pin locations. Off the tee, you have the choice of going left of the tree to bite off some distance, but it's a healthy carry to reach that area. The fairway is ample up the middle, but leaves you a tougher chance in reaching in two. The second shot has you looking down the fairway at a peninsula green with the pin jammed right up against the front edge a 3 wood distance carry away. This is getable in calm conditions, but could be treacherous with certain winds. If you choose to lay up, you have the decision of whether to lay up short of the trees which are pin high left of the fairway, which still presents a difficult angle, or play a longer lay up with a wood past the grove of trees leaving you a good angle back toward the pin, but with the green sloping away from you.

Just wanted to vent. I finally had time to sit down with the designer last night. I spent a good couple of hours designing a couple of really good holes. Then the game crashed on me. All of that work was lost. I think I'm putting the game down for good until 2.0 arrives.
