First of all
First of all, sorry for my bad English. I'm native Dutch, learning different languages really wasn't my cup of tea. So if i misspell something, please let me know. I love to learn!
Like all of us, I'm playing for fun. Same for organising, just for the fun of it :-) I'm starting, so lot to learn. I'm very much open for hints, ideas, criticism. Feel free!
Background
I'm playing TGC now for half a year. In the beginning i found it hard to play the 4 tgctours.com rounds in a week. That changes over time ofcourse. More time spent on practicing, more seek for competition.
After a while i decided to enter community driven competitions mostly to practice more (and i need a lot more practice lol). Most competitions are a lot of fun. But somehow, they aren't satisfying my need: a competitive practice as preparation for the tgctours-tournaments.
That's why i decided to start this tour. Let's start explaining what i have in mind.
Tournaments
There's a tournament every week. Played on the golf course of the tgctours.com next week's tournament (course of the CC A-C is chosen for now). Format is matchplay in brackets, like in tennis. For Each tournament has a status, the amount of points to be earned depends on the status (table here).
Rounds
Each round you play one round. Write down your scores and submit them with the current submit form. If score is even, there will be calculated backwards (from 18, like if there were only 17 holes etc.).
Tour
The tour consists of weekly tournaments. Parallel tournaments are possible if the tour grows. World Tour tournaments will have CC A-C courses, Challenger will have CC D-Z courses. If players field is not full, players are invited to both tournaments. Best results (in points) counts. No-shows get no points.
Order of merit
Rankings are calculated based upon the avarage points a player collected. Results in at least 25 tournaments are taken into account. Divider will be 40.
Entering a tournament
Every player will be signed up automatically. No signup required. On the other hand: we expect you to play and submit your score in time. If you don't submit your score in time, you'll have a warning (* to your name in the next game). Another no-show results in delisting of the active player list. You won't appear until you send a message you will be playing again (PM, mail or message in this thread).
Submitting scores
Use the link stated by the current tournament
Prizes
Yes… there will be :-) i have some prices on their way… will tell you more about it in the near future!
